(Newt x Reader)

3: Flower Crown

It's been two years since then and a lot of new people are here it's been so nice having them here and all but.. Newt.. He still is the number one person I talk to I wanted to do something nice for him. So I avoided him as well as I could all day till I gathered enough of dandelions and daisies. I went to a tree and sat next to it I took some facts that Gally gave me of building stuff. I grabbed some grass and twigs then started to wrap the flowers together as carefully as I could. I smiled as I made this, good thing Alby and Newt were busy making a plan about something. I then heard a noise. I turned over and seen a metalic like beetle. Beetle blade. I sighed and walked to a different tree. Those things are cameras for the creators. I began building it again.

An hour passed and I finally finished. I hoped it fits him so very much. I looked around hiding the flower crown behind my back. Then I seen Newt. He smiled and limped my way.

"(R/n) I-"

"Here" I had a light blush. I gave him the crown. He blushed a little, He took it carefully and smiled.

"T-thank you..." He smirked then gentally put it on
"I will wear it the rest of the day" I smiled
I clapped with joy

"I'm so happy it fits!" I said
He laughed

"Your kind (R/n), Why'd you even make this thing?" He asked

"Well, it's for our friendship, thank you so very much for being there when I needed you through out these years, Newt" He had a light blush on his cheeks. He cleared his throat

"Thank.. thank you too (R/n)" He rubbed the back of his neck while looking away. He got closer and dropped the bucket he was holding and hugged me. I hugged him back.
"Well I best give this to Zart" He backed away and then grabbed the bucket walking away from me. I chuckled.

I went into the dining area only to hear Gally teasing the newest Greenie, Chuck, the youngest among all of us Gladers. I sighed and walked over.

"Ok Gally that's enough" I said
Gally looked at me then back at Chuck who was smiling at me, I gave him a smile back. Gally sighed. Rolling his eyes he walked to a different table.

"Thank you, uh?"

"(R/n)" I told him

"I see" He smiled

"Food!" Fry yelled everyone got up and walked over to where the food was. I walked to it and seen Newt who still had the flower crown on. I smiled.

When I got my food I sat across from Newt. He gave me a smile as he chewed his food. The daisies are slowly dying but the dandelions looked a bit ok, there was a bit of brown but I didn't care, he didn't either

"So who teased you today?" I asked

"Not anyone who bothers me" He smirked

"Good then" I gave him a warm smile that made him blush a little

"(R/n) I'm gonna need you to run tomorrow" Minho said with a tap on my shoulder

"Oh ok" I say

"Ok cool" He sat down at the runners table and began to eat
Ok so here's what's going on, I'm not completely in the runners "squad" but when they need me I run with them, but when they don't I help around the Glade. Sometimes even with the Med-jacks when it's needed.

"(R/n).." I look at Newt who needed me

"Hm?"

"I have to confess that when you go out in that shucking place I get seriously terrified, that, maybe you'll come back dead." He seemed hurt

"I will be fine Newt, I promise" I gave him a smile. It seemed to have calmed him down a little. But then I got serious.

"Thank you for caring, Newt. It warms my heart." I blushed a bit
"Especially since it's you who cares a lot" He looked up at me a bit shocked. My eyes widened when I realized what I said
"Wait no! I didn't mean it like that i- I-"

"(R/n), it's fine" He chuckled
"I know what you mean" He smirked my heart was beating fast and my face is flushed. He got up and came to sit next to me. He smiled with a still light blush on his face and he opened his mouth to speak
"But shucking hell don't get my hopes up (R/n)" He kissed my cheek
It was just a quick peck and he got up.
"Well, I must be going to help Zart now" He blushed and cleaned his bowl then left the room
I turned to see Zart eating still. What really is he doing? I smirked. Why not shucking answer that then. I got up and cleaned my stuff and then I walked out silently fallowing Newt from a far distance
