Abigail walked into school, dreading the day ahead of her. Her date in the morning had been a disaster. The last thing she wanted was to deal with a heartbroken Jackie who didn't know how to handle the baby.
She she walked down the corridor, her books tightly clutched in her hands. She turned the corner to hear flirtatious giggles. Although she only saw the back of them, she knew it was Jackie and Ellie. Their hands where intertwined and Ellie's head rested on Jackie's shoulder. They acted as they always did, like the 'breakup' never happened the day before.
Abigail watched with confusion as they walked towards and into the 'baby class'. She couldn't guess how long it would take before an argument would arise but decided it was none of her business.
She started to compose herself before yet another giggly pair walked past. Their arms were linked and their bodies close.
"Maria", Abigail called out after the girl.
She turned around and took her arm out of Steven's.
"Oh, hey Abigail", Maria replied. She turned to Steven, "I'll see you inside"
"So, are you two a thing now?" Abigail asked.
"Erm, I don really know" she said before quickly changing the subject, "how was the date then?"
Abigail sighed, "Awful, he even tried to order my drink for me"
They walked in and continued talking about Edward.
Abigail walked over to Jackie and took her seat. Jackie was next to her with Ellie sitting on top of him. Abigail rolled her eyes and picked up the baby. She started rocking it to settle it down.
She tried to avoid talking to Jackie by making eye contact with Annie. She was sat with Dave in complete science as he fed their baby.
Ellie gave Jackie a quick kiss good bye as she walked over to her table. Abigail looked for Edward but he was nowhere to be seen.
Laurice walked over to Abigail and asked if she had seen Fin but Abigail hadn't. They talked for a bit to avoid Jackie but Laurice walked away eventually and Abigail turned to Jackie.
Everything was okay for the first 5 minutes despite the odd tension. Abigail however started to get annoyed as time went on. Jackie was holding the baby and talking about how amazing his girlfriend was. She rolled her eyes and took the baby off of him.
A few awkward minutes past. Abigail came back from talking to Maria and saw Jackie holding the baby wrong.
"What on Earth are you doing" asked Abigail.
"Erm, looking after our kid" replied Jackie.
"Well you're holding the baby WRONG" Abigail tutted and grabbed the baby from him.
"OI, what are you doing?" He exclaimed throwing his hands up in the air.
"I'm taking care of things you clearly can't" she shot back at him.
He rolled his eyes and took out his phone.
"Fine ignore things instead of helping"
Abigail mumbled something under her breath.
"What was that?" His voice was ice cold knowing exactly what Abigail had said.
She looked up at him and said boldly "I said, just like our relationship"
Jackie remained silent
"Isn't it though you ignored me and ran off to some ginger chick with boobs and no brain, so you don't get the right to roll your fricking eyes and pretend that everything is fine when it's not"
She breathed heavily, the class paying its full attention.
"Abigail" he laughed cruelly "I never loved you, at first I guess I wanted to sleep with you but thats only to say that i slept with a frigid."
He looked at her, and only seconds after his eyes flashed with regret when her eyes started to fill with tears.
A quiet "sh*t" was heard from Dave.
Abigail grabbed her bags and ran.
She heard footsteps following her. "Abigail wait, no Abigail"
She turned round quickly causing him to quickly step back.
"You don't get to say that" her voice broke on the last word.
He exhaled. "I'm sorry, I...I didn't think" he ran his hands through his hair, he genuinely looked broken.
"You never loved me"
Abigail looked up at him sadly.
" I did, I did"
"NO YOU DIDNT, YOUR A LIA-"
Suddenly his soft lips collided with hers igniting a flame, her hands instantly tangled themselves in his hair, and he pulled her closer into him clutching the sides of her jumper. Their touch burning each other, their mouths moving in sync. He tugged on her bottom lip causing her to gasp. He smiled into the kiss when suddenly an almighty force wretched them apart.
Abigail's and Jackies lips were swollen, Ellie looked livid, her ginger hair created a frizzy halo around her head, only their breathing kept the silence dead, then a loud echoing SLAP was heard and echoed on the hollow walls of the hallway.
Jackie clutched his cheek and stood there, then Abigail and he made eye contact and then they both blushed red, she started to walk off, ignoring the sound of Ellie's screams that could be heard halfway across the world.
She turned round and saw Jackie smirking at her his eyes twinkling, she blushed even more then carried on walking to her car, the idea of skipping sounded like a plan.
