"Now, now, Teddy, you'll do perfectly fine." said Mom, looking down at me, her hair slowly turning into a bright pink as she showed affection for me.
"Mom, not here! Muggles! Just wait till we get on the platform, please." I said, glancing around before taking my little sister's hand. Gemmy looked up a me adoringly as I placed her on my cart with all my supplies and my owl, which I named after my godfather, Harry.
I charged through the barrier, Gemmy squealing all the way. I waited for Mom and Dad to come through and walked slightly behind them.
"Hermione, Ron!" Dad waved, and Aunt Mione and Uncle Ron swooped over to us. Aunt Mione picked up Gemmy and spun her in circles while Uncle Ron clapped me on the back.
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked, looking up at them.
"Oh, we promised your dad we'd come here and send you off. Your first day of school, aren't you excited?" said Aunt Mione, setting my sister down.
"Uh, yeah sure," I said, glancing around the platform. "I'm a Metamorphmagus, how on Earth am I not excited to see everyone's bewildered faces?"
They laughed. I heard my name and looked into the smoke, and I saw Aunt Ginny and Harry walking towards us with baby Lily in their arms, Albus holding Aunt Ginny's hand, and James running around them in circles. Harry smiled broadly and dashed over, baby Lily screaming in his arms.
"Harry!" Aunt Mione gasped. "Oh, Lily, she's so cute! Let me take her!" Harry passed baby Lily to Aunt Mione and gave me a bone crushing hug.
"Hey there, big guy! Ready for your first day of school?"
He looked so hopeful, I couldn't possibly say otherwise. "Of course! Did you guys come to send me off too?"
"Wouldn't miss it," said Aunt Ginny, laughing as James ran and tackled me from my midriff.
"Hey James!" I laughed, prying his fingers off me.
"Genevieve Abigail Lupin, get back here!" called Mom as Gemmy broke away to go hug Albus.
"Where's Rose and Hugo?" asked Aunt Ginny, turning to Aunt Mione and Uncle Ron.
"Hugo's at home, Molly's babysitting him, and Rose is around here somewhere." said Ron.
"You don't know where your only daughter is?" I asked incredulously. My parents never let me out of my sight, what's wrong with Aunt Mione and Uncle Ron?
They laughed and shook their heads. "We couldn't keep track of her even if we wanted to. She'll find us when she gets bored from hiding," giggled Aunt Mione.
"Albus, do you want to say bye to Teddy?" asked Aunt Ginny motioning in my direction. Albus immediately detached himself from his mother and gave me a small hug before sidling over to Harry, asking to be picked up. Harry complied, and Aunt Mione handed baby Lily back over to Aunt Ginny. Mom and Dad stood quietly behind me the entire duration, I almost forgot they were there. I turned to them and saw Mom had tears in her eyes and Dad was smiling, pride washing over his face. They hugged me and both mine and Mom's hair turned blue. How could I leave her? She was my best friend, the only person like me that I even knew. I would be separated from her for an entire year.
"I'll come back for Christmas, I promise." I said, and everyone laughed.
Behind me, I heard a familiar voice, a girl's voice. "Yeah, you'd better, and you better tell me all about it." I turned and saw Rose there, giving me a smirk that I guess she thought passed for a smile. She hugged me, something she never did before as the whistle blew. I needed to get on the train
