Scarlett Hamilton loved her life very much. Scarlett had a perfect life she had loyal friends, a loyal soulmate, and a big family that protected and loved her very much.  She had thought that most problems where just a minor annoyance that she could overcome. Most of the time she was smiling because she could not find a reason to frown about.

Scarlett had the love of her life, logan. James, Katrina, and beatrice  were her best friends. She had known Beatrice since 3rd grade. She had made friends with James and Katrina in the summer of fifth grade at a science camp. She had other friends of course but they were always her favorite.

She loved logan very much and she thought that he loved her too. She had believed that he loved  her so much that she should quite literally give him her heart. She was a regular human but in her world when you loved someone very dearly you could ask the witches, the only people that possessed magic to encase your love inside of a glass object called the champra.  You would give the object to the person you love the most and they would always hold your love.

She planned to give it to logan and she thought she would be given his love in return.  Logan was a tall man with light brown hair like Scarlett's that was always styled. Logan would say said his mother was a jeweler and his dad a inventor. He would seem to look amused most of the time but the amusement barely ever reached his eyes. She wondered why but just dismissed herself for a stupid observation because he was almost always laughing.

She was walking down the street to logan's house. His house was very big with pillars of marble and a huge front door. The inside was lavishly  designed like a fairytale palace with tall roofs and many painting. She rang the especially loud doorbell and a few seconds later logan was standing in front of the door she greeted him and since it was raining outside he ushered her in the warmth of the house.

He sat on the end of a sofa and patted the seat next to him with is hand so she would seat herself next to him on the couch. He smiled at her then spotted the edge of the champra  in the pocket of her coat. She brought it out and weirdly he didn't changed his expression when he saw it just still sat there not saying a word so she said, "I brought this for you as a token of my love." she said with trying to keep her voice sound happy.  He reached for the champra and he held it for a moment till he said, "I didn't think you would be so stupid and reckless to give this to me. Does you even know how powerful this is and what I plan to do with it?" His tone sounded delighted despite his words.

For a second she stood as still as a statue staring at him feeling surprised and utterly confused. After what felt like hours but was probably a few seconds she finally said, "What are you saying logan. I thought you would ben delighted upon me giving you my love!"

Logan just looked at her and he had the nerve to smirk, after a moment he said, "Oh, I am more than delighted but for reasons you don't and will never know." And before she could respond he raised the champra  and murmured words she couldn't understand.

After a few moments of murmuring tiny cracks appeared on the champra it felt like tiny cracks were appearing in her heart as well as the glass object. She gasped and tried to scream but no words came from her mouth. More cracks appeared on the champra and she looked at logan who was done with chanting and was looking at her with fake sympathy.  She felt it when the Champra and her heart along with broke lying in shattered pieces on the marble floors of logan's house. She looked more closely and saw that tiny wisps of things like pale yellow light was traveling it's way in logan's body. He seemed to be glowing with power and through the whole thing he was looking at her with a look full of loathing.

She had never in her whole life felt so much hatred. She glared at logan who was grinning at her waiting for her response she was wordless but she glared at him with so much hatered he looked taken aback for a second but then continued with his grinning. Finally he said, "You know I was starting to wonder if you knew how to get mad. What with you smiling all the time and acting like your life couldn't be better. It was seriously getting on my nerves.  I think you need to know learn that the world isn't always a dream come true." And with a flick of his hand he was gone and so was the house she was standing in the middle of the street that once had his house but now was just a empty place.

The rain was coming down in sheets but she barely felt it. She never felt so torn . It felt like a whole piece was ripped out of her chest. She stood there for about an hour before walking home.
