As the young boy began to approach home, he had a bad feeling inside. As the boy approached the home he heard an ear-piercing shriek. He immediately ran into the house and was greeted by  a gruesome sight. He saw an unforgivable sight. His mother was sitting in a chair bound by rope, her eyes were left but only black sockets in her face with blood dripping from them.

His mother's head was hanging back with a cloth within her mouth, her hands bound by the ropes hanging, her feet were slashed at the heels and were tied by the same rope, and her stomach held stab wounds. The culprit that was responsible for this was holding a gun and turned to the boy. The boy looked at the man and saw his features resembled his somehow.

The boy realized that this man was his father and he had killed his mother. The man spoke, "So, this is my son, Mateo? My you have grown. You kept me from my boy for five years and this is how it is now?" He chuckled and picked up Mateo. "You are not my father. My father would never do this." He growled and he hit the man multiple times. The man dropped the boy. "Mateo, don't make me do this," He pointed the gun towards the boy, "I don't want to hurt you, come with me and nothing will happen." "No!" The boy shouted and quickly grabbed the gun and kicked the man.

"That was a mistake, son." The man reached to grab the gun and Mateo. Mateo quickly pulled the trigger and the bullet hit the man in the shoulder and he fell to the ground. The man grasped his shoulder and hissed at the pain. "No, sir, you made the mistake." Mateo pointed the gun towards the man's head, pulled the trigger, and shot him. Mateo turned toward his mother. "I'm sorry, mother." Mateo heard footsteps running towards him and voices yelling. If Mateo stayed he knew he would be blamed for the murder, so he was left with only one choice. So Mateo ran as fast as he could away from the scene and the village.

Mateo ran for hours, he ran until he reached a cave . He approached the cavern cautiously and  walked in. He heard some rustling from the back of the cave. He dismissed it as some leaves being blown. He continued to look around and he came to a conclusion that he would live there. He began to look around more and heard a low growl coming from behind him.  He stood there shocked, thinking of how he checked every corner of the cave and coming up with nothing. Mateo was petrified and snapped back to reality.

He slowly turned around. Mateo was surprised. He saw a young dragon standing there. "Hello." The dragon said.
