Alone

Dear Dad,
You have said that you have felt
Alone.
But you don't understand
Being alone.
You said that we drove you away
But no- you drove us away.
When you felt alone, you relied on drugs.
When I felt alone I relied on
Mom, Em, and Co.
Do you know how long I've worn
This painted mask?
I've used this to to hide my anger
My pain.
What you did was just vain!
So please just leave us alone
Because we are striving alone.
I'm not done yet.
I'm so sick of your threats!
They are empty.
And if you hurt Mom, Em, or Co.
You would be rotting in jail...
Wait... you already are.
If you wanna see me again,
Stop putting needles in your arms
I think we're done here...
No I don't want to hear it.
I think I'll leave you alone
With all your guilt,

Sorry,
LDP

p.s leave us alone.

[A/N] This one was actually an English assignment. We were in our poetry unit and were reading Edgar Allen Poe's poem by the same title. Thanks for reading. Please vote comment and share.
