It was a dark and shivering dusk. Whirls of wind came by performing its magnifying strength bequeathed upon the town of Edo. Aoshi and Misao was about to come home after finishing their mission up in the mountains when this incident happened. Somehow, they knew that this would occur yet they didn't assure that it would be like this, very ravaging, and nothing could be done but to seek for a robust protection. Poor Misao's body is about to give up the quest of struggling the harsh cold force of nature, though her body grew better than before. She could barely see the things around her – even her Beloved *Aoshi*.
Aoshi, aware of their present situation, looked for a place – any kind of shelter will do – to cover for their safety, his and Misao.
"Misao chan?" - Aoshi immediately turned around and sees if she's still there but there was no one to be found. Described to be a skilled warrior, he traced back the undefined path into the raging bursts of snow, in the possibility of finding Misao there. And he was right! He found her laying head first on the piles of snow. Aoshi found her lifeless due to the bitterness of cold that the weather gave her. He quickly yet gently scooped her up into his sturdy arms and walk back to his way searching and hoping for a warm refuge.
"Misao-chan!" He shook her softly finding if there are any vital signs. Luckily, she's still alive.
The north wind grew stronger. Aoshi felt it's intense power. Damn! He continued to search for a place to stay with while Misao, in his arms, was still uncontrollably shivering. He felt her quiver. Aoshi covered her some part of his trench coat just to make her warm enough even at least for a few stolen moments.
"Gomen Misao. I should have somehow predicted that the weather would be like this hard. I shouldn't have let you come back yet, with me to Aoiya. Please, be strong." Aoshi continuously blamed himself while trying with all his might to cover and temperate her.
Having no clue whether she heard his plea, she suddenly grasped at his inner black shirt and moaned.
Aoshi was relieved then turned his attention for searching. He walked through the glistening woods and later saw the dim figured of a small hut. He trudged through the snow which is now at his knee level and finally had arrived, safe and sound. Despite the fact that the wind blew angrily at them, Aoshi never let Misao receive much frost. He held her very tight in his arms and covering her with his trench coat.
"Arigato Kami-sama." he hugged her more deeply into his chest assuring that his body heat would contribute much for her warmth. He turned around and faced the sliding door of the abandoned hut. Aoshi switched Misao's body into an another position for him to be able to freely use his other hand. He opened it, entered and closed the sliding door behind him. He gently laid her at one of the corners of the hut and took his coat, placing it into her. He stood up. Looking for a worth material as an insulator of heat, he abruptly seek to the cabinets of the hut. Thick dust flew a bit from all the searching he did and finally, he found a futon and a woolen blanket. He thankfully sighed.
"hgmh...." Misao again shivered. Her clothes are soaking wet because of the snow.
Aoshi looked at her and felt very sorry. He quickly arranged the futon on the wooden planks of the floor and dust-off some of its parts. He went back to Misao and seized her up back into his arms and wondered if he could just held her in for quite some moment guaranteeing that she could receive more heat than the woolen blanket could offer.
