~America~

"Shina!" I turned and glanced boredly, at my coach who was waving his clipboard and running towards me.

"What's up?" I said spinning the ball I had, on my finger. He coughed and a sad glint shone through his brown eyes.

"You're going back to Japan." I stared at him and the ball fell off my finger. I gripped my sides and started laughing.

"Bwahahahahahaha! That's great coach, nice joke!" I sputtered while gasping for air, he frowned at me and patted my head; which caused me to stop, because coach wasn't a touchy-feely person.

"I'm sorry, you're going to live with your cousin, Riko Aida." He said sadly, I looked up at him, unbelieving. What? How am I going to be the best when I get back to Japan?!America has the potential!

"But, but coach!" I cried, he shook his head and pulled me into a hug.

"There isn't any room for discussion. Your father wanted this." He whispered into my hair. I grabbed the back of his shirt and gave a small sob. He rubbed the back of my head comfortingly.

"Remember your promise. You'll be the best, and give me a call once you get settled in." I nodded my head numbly. I'll be the best...for you Dad, Mom...Coach.

~Japan~

I glanced at the school before me, Seirin's private school. How I even managed to get here, no idea. I was in Teikou before, now I was in some crummy run down private school. But I would keep my promise, regardless of the conditions. To become the best. I clenched my fist and walked past the front gates, there were clubs set up here and there. My Japanese was rusty; but I had been practicing, luckily for me.

As I walked past some stalls, people tried persuading me to join their club. I politely refused their offers, and continued walking; looking for the basketball club stall. My eyes caught blue hair, I looked through the sea of heads to see a familiar boy, he was about 168 cm, blue eyes and pale skin, he looked the same as ever. His blue eyes were glued to a book, but he seemed capable of navigating his way through the sea of people. I desperately tried following him but instead, I felt myself being shoved and collided with a tree.

"Ow!" I hissed, grabbing my face. I sighed and shoved people aside angrily. Fine, can't find the guy. Find the stall, can't find the stall; find the gym. I trekked around the school looking for the gym entrance. After about 10 minutes, I threw the map on the ground and screamed out in pure anger.

"How long does it take to find a fucking gym around here!?" I screamed to the happy sky. Then I heard a pretty familiar voice.

"Now then...take off your shirts." My eye twitched, oh...going with uncle's way with this huh? I walked around the corner and saw my cousin talking with a few boys.

"You, your body is too stiff. Train your flexibility after you get out of the bath." She said. I smirked, she's changed. Her brown hair was still short but she grew taller, her eyes were different; they had lost their playfulness- replaced with scrutinizing eyes.

I walked in like I owned the place, then noticed my old friend, my smirk widened. He stood off to the side with his shirt off. No one seemed to notice him though. But I wasn't going to help him yet.

"Oi, who are you?" I turned to see a boy about a year or two older than me, he had short black hair; and wore glasses. His arms were crossed and his face was etched into a scowl.

"I. Don't. Understand. Japanese." I said in English, making an 'x' with my arms. He frowned, furrowing his eyebrows.

"Shina?" I turned and saw Riko making her way over.
