Kyran's POV
I walked towards the hospital. Neither Gold or Alec told me, which I am a little mad about, but eventually word got around to me that Funneh was seriously injured and was at this hospital. I brought her a tiny stuffed blue whale. But when I stepped through the doors, I saw Funneh being restrained by the arm by a tall nurse. "Funneh?!" I panicked, rushing over to her. She looked up to see me and started to cry. The nurse turned away towards a long hallway and said simply, "Come see her in fifteen minutes. The waiting room is down the left hall, first door to the right." Then walked away with Funneh. I saw a blonde boy about my age in a wheelchair sobbing a little farther down the hall. This place is absolutely miserable. I ran up to the nurse and handed her the whale toy with her other hand. "Give this to her when she ready." I directed. She nodded and I left the hospital.
Alec's POV
The forest was damp and dark. "Gold!" I called out. There was an echo, but no reply. "Where did you take her, Maura?!" I screamed. Then there was a giggle from above me. I looked up to see Maura, crouching on a tree branch, covering Gold's mouth. Frustrated, I tried to climb the tree, but the second I reached the first branch, Maura stood up, threw Gold over her shoulder, gave me a cold smile, then jumped away, tree to tree until I couldn't see her anymore. Great, Maura kidnapped Gold. Now I have nothing. I ran after them, occasionally hearing a far off giggle or leaves rustling. At one point Gold screamed, but I couldn't understand what she said. Once I was out of breath, I pulled out my phone, which had cellular, so I called the police, once again disguising my voice. "Hello, I'd like to report a kidnapping." "Alright, make it snappy." Said the voice on the other side of the phone. Cheryl. "I'm in the woods across the street from the police station, I might be lost, but a criminal who was supposed to be dead kidnapped my friend Gold." The woman hung up. I can't believe that nobody will take this seriously. I tried to navigate my way through the woods, but I ended up getting more lost. Tired and stressed, I climbed a tree up to the highest branch I could go to without a thinner one snapping beneath me. I saw a small flicker of movement probably half a mile from here. No doubt it was Maura. She was heading towards where the woods cleared on the other side. There was a town filled with houses, and one big grey warehouse behind the town. That's where I'm going next.
