Goldenheart's Prophecy

Chapter 1

       Goldenheart sat at the entrance of the camp wondering when her vigil would be over. She looked over to her sister Brightfeather. They had both recently been made warriors and were keeping vigil.
       "Your vigil is over." Goldenheart looked over and saw Skypelt, the deputy, giving them permission to leave.
       "Finally." Brightfeather told her sister. "Now we can go in the warriors den and get some sleep." She joked to Goldenheart.
       "Yes. I could use some sleep." Goldenheart said with a big yawn. Finally a warrior! Goldenheart said to herself. She walked over to the warriors den with her sister and saw the new nests that had been made for her and Brightfeather . She saw her sister already picked her nest so she got in the one next to her. She fell asleep and woke up to see it was nearly sunhigh. "You mousebrain. You can't be doing this on your first day of being a warrior." She told herself. She got up and saw Brightfeather already left her nest.
      "Hi Goldenheart." She turned around and saw Flamespirit.
      "Oh hi." She said back kind of nervous.
      "Tigerfoot is taking me and you on a border patrol over by the Windclan border." He told her
       "Ok I'll be right there." She replied getting up." She yawned and walked over to where Tigerfoot and Flamespirit was. They headed out over by the Windclan border.
       Tigerfoot, who was leading the patrol stopped in front of Flamespirit and Goldenheart. "Windclan have been to close to the border." He grunted.
      "They didn't cross it did they?" Goldenheart asked.
      "No but they've been right on the border." Tigerfoot replied "But we should report it to Blossomstar just in case."
      "We might as well hunt while we are here." Flamespirit told Tigerfoot. Goldenheart had agreed with him but knew it was Tigerfoot's desision.
      "Yes. It may be newleaf but it doesn't mean we don't need to hunt for the clan." Tigerfoot replied to Flamspirit.
      Goldenheart listened to Tigerfoot's orders and went off to hunt. She was good at catching fish but they were on the other side of the territory. She smelled a vole nearby. She slowly stalked it's sent. I have to catch this! She told herself. She trekked through the grass and spotted it under a nut tree searching for food. She leaped foward to it and killed it with a bite in the neck. She came back to Flamespirit and Tigerfoot with a blackbird, and a vole. She saw Flamespirit caught two mice and Tigerfoot a rabbit.
       "Nice catch." She told Flamespirit
       "We should get back to camp. " Tigerfoot inturupped, "We need to report to Blossomstar."
        "Let's get back to camp." Flamespirit said. They started walking back camp. Goldenheart heard a yowl as they walked back into camp. She saw Feathershine sitting in the nursery and realized her kits were coming. Tigerfoot was her mate and she saw him go over to her as quick as he could.
      "It's okay Feathershine." Goldenheart heard the medicine cat Frostheart calming her. "This won't take long. Goldenheart get her a stick to bite on hurry." She obeyed her and ran off and found a stick at the edge of camp.
      "Here Feathershine." Goldenheart said handing the stick to her. She saw Tigerfoot over next to his mate trying to calm her.
      "Here comes the first one." Frostheart said as she pulled it out and handed it to Tigerfoot to start warming it.
       "It's a tom." She heard Tigerfoot announce.
        "I think that's the only one." Goldenheart heard Frostheart say.
         "That's the only one?" Feathershine asked.
         "What should we name him?" Tigerfoot asked his mate.
          "I like Brakenkit for his light brown fur."
          "I think that's perfect." Tigerfoot replied.
          Goldenheart looked at the little kit and started to remember her young days as a kit with Brightfeather. She walked outside the nursery and saw her sister walking towards her.
       "How was your first day as a warrior?" Brightfeather asked.
      "Well I witnessed Feathershine's kitting." She laughed
      "How many did she have?" Her sister asked.
      "Only 1. And his name is Brakenkit." She replied
      "I'll have to go see him." Brightfeather said running off.
      Goldenheart looked over at Flamespirit and saw him with Acornfur. They were sharing tongues over by the warriors den. I wish I could have a mate like that. She said to herself. She then walked out of camp towards the river. She looked in at her reflection and saw blue gill swimming in the river. She through her paw in the water and fished it out of the water and made it freshkill. "Well I'll take this back to camp." She said to herself. She walked back.to camp and went into the elders den. She laid it down in front of the elders.
      "Blue gill again." Dustfur grunted
      "Don't listen to him." Willowmist said. "He's just an old grouch. Thank you." She told Goldenheart
      She went back to the warriors den and started thinking, seeing that kitting today was really beautiful. I hope I can actually have kits someday.
