A/N: Sorry for the cliffhanger guys, y'all freaked out.

"Jem..." Thomas trailed off, his eyes focused on James face, which now had a new forming bruise just below his eye. His lip was split, and if Thomas were to be completely honest, James looked like hell. "James, you were just with me last night, what happened?"

"Nothing Thomas, don't worry about it," James said, pulling Thomas by the arm into his dorm.

"James, please tell me what happened," Thomas said as James dragged him to the couch.

"I just fell, I'm okay," James said. Thomas gave him an uneasy look. "Thomas, its fine, I'm serious. It doesn't even hurt." Thomas looked into his eyes, trying to see if that would give him a notion to whether James was lying or not James was lying.

Thomas scooted over to James, gently cupping his face with his hands. "The bruises on your beautiful face were just starting to go away."

"I know Thomas, but this one'll go away too, I promise."

"You'd tell me if someone hurt you again? Right? You'd go straight to me?" Thomas asked.

"Of course Tommy," James said weakly. He didn't like lying to Thomas, but it was for Thomas' safety, and James was willing to do anything for him to be safe.

Thomas smiled, grabbing James' hands, lifting him from the couch. "Come on we have a class to go to."

As James followed Thomas out of the dorm, he felt his phone buzz.

So, I saw Jefferson walking to your dorm. I thought I made myself clear James. If I see that again, well, just remember I own a gun, and I'm not afraid to use it. Especially on Jefferson. James paled, pulling his hand out of Thomas' as they walked. Thomas looked back, giving him a confused and sad look. James just acted like nothing happened, putting his hands on the sides of his phone so that Thomas wouldn't suspect anything.

He just came to tell me we had a class today, it's nothing I swear. James replied hastily.

"Who're you texting?" Thomas asked. "Not to pry."

"Oh, just my mom," James said smiling.

Thomas returned the smile. "Okay." They made their way into Washington's class. Thomas noticed that James seemed to keep his distance as they walked, but he wasn't too concerned about it. It wasn't a strange thing for James to want space.

"Hey," Aaron said as Thomas took a seat next to him. James took his normal seat in the back. "Everything going okay?"

"I think so," Thomas said, glancing back at James. "He seems a little off today though. He doesn't seem to want to tell me what's up, so I'm not going to make him."

Aaron looked back at James, who looked terrified he stared down at his phone.

"Thomas, maybe you should."

A/N: This chapter is kind of bad I'm sorry.
