Reason #9
“Stop smiling like that,” I groaned, noticing Joey smiling at me again. It wasn’t even a regular smile. It was a huge smile that screamed of accomplishment.
“Like what?” He asked as he started chuckling.
“Like you won a pony or something,” I grumbled. “It’s freaking me out.”
“Why shouldn’t I smile?” He replied, stepping toward me. “We are finally mated and you are finally mine completely.” Joey settled his hands on my hips and flashed me another one of those satisfied grins. “I am completely content right now,” He sighed, tucking my head under his chin.
“Uh huh,” I sighed, breathing in his scent and clutching his shirt in my fingers. “I love you.”
“Love you too,” he murmured. “God it feels good to be mated.” He pressed a kiss to my mark, making me shiver.
“Why do you say so?”
“I don’t know. I think it has to do with the fact that you made me wait…too long.”
“It was only two months. A normal person would’ve made you wait longer.”
“Babe, we are anything but normal.” He chuckled and nipped at my neck.
“Correction, you are anything but normal, Pooh. I, on the other hand, am completely human.” I pulled away from my bear. “Now go find yourself some honey and a piglet. I have things to do.” I walked around him, slapping his ass on the way by, and headed into the kitchen.
Joey followed me. “So Christopher Robin,” He said sarcastically. “What are we doing today?”
“Well, Pooh bear, I planned on cooking dinner and doing my homework. What do you plan on doing?”
“Helping you cook dinner, doing my homework, and falling asleep with my mate.” His lips curled at the edges as he said the last part.
“I hope that last one involves clothes,” I muttered.
“Of course it does,” Joey chuckled darkly. “You’ve got to be sore from last night. I wouldn’t want to hurt you more.” He winked at me cockily.
My cheeks heated up to a bright red. “Bastard,” I muttered. I bumped him with my hip and proceeded to search through my cabinets for anything to eat. The good news is we had cereal. I could’ve easily cooked but really, who wants to do that? Plus, cereal is amazing in every way possible. I took two bowls out of the cupboard and poured Apple Jacks for each of us. I poured some milk into my bowl and proceeded to eat while Joey stared at me, dumbfounded. “What’s up?” I asked as he continued to stare.
“This is a terrible dinner,” He told me. “And you are extremely cute when you eat cereal and stare at me like that.”
“I wasn’t the one staring, thank you very much.” I shoveled another spoonful of the delicious, cinnamon flavored cereal into my mouth.
“I think you were,” he countered.
I spoke around my full cheeks, “It’s no fun to creep on you if you’re aware of it.” I swallowed. “Therefore, I was not creeping.”
