Ode to M

You were here, at a time where fears were real.

You went through trials, you made us feel.

You were an inspiration to all;

You got rid of bars, you broke down walls.

You made us smile, and sometimes cry.

You made us bold, and question why;

Across the globe, you've united strong,

Tried to make us see all of what was wrong.

You were born with a gift, blessed from the start;

It is the One above who gave you such a big heart.

One in a million, hardly ever compared;

You were one who genuinely cared.

You were ridiculed, taunted and cursed;

They said everything about you, including the worst.

Your pain was real, help was unattainable,

But you prevailed, you showed them you were Unbreakable.

Many turned their backs, your life became unlivable

But many others know you were Smooth, but not a Criminal.

It's because of you that we can say we're Not Alone.
