Chapter 9

Chris got out the car and stretched his legs as they stood in front of Sam's house.

He knew on the other side of that door lies the new in formation on hus wife. It could be good new or bad new either way it was something they needed to hear.

They been on the road for two weeks and they finally made it to Florida. Chris breathed in the good air before he made hi first steps to the door.

The nervousness built in him cause he couldn't imagine the new he could get if he talks to Sam.

If anything she could be in troulbe and it comes down to Chris to get her out. Chris just want to know if she seen Nicole. It was a long shot since she hasn't seen her since she was 15. Now Nicole is 27.

Chris stood in front of the door with head held high. He knocked and waited for someone to answer the door.

He knocked again and then he heard foot steps. Soon the door opened to a women that looks like an older version of Nicole. Chris sighed.

"Good afternoon Sam." he said and she looked at him like she seen a ghost.

"What are you doing here?" she asked him shocked that she would see him in Flordia. Chris scratched the back of his head.

"Im here to see if you had any contact with Nicole?" he said and she looked at him confused.

"No i haven't spoken to her in years. Why? Is she missing?" she asked a little worried.

Chris looked at her. "Yea. Some guys took her and i have to find her." he said and she looked at him.

"Why do you want to find her anyway?" she asked and Chris sighed.

"She is my wife now." chris said and she looked at him shocked.

"She is married?!" she said and and Chris nodded.

"And we have two kids." he said and she broke down.

"My own daughter is living herblife andnim not there to see it. I have grand children and i don't even know their names. I am a bad person." she said and Chris hugged her.

He seen the pain she was in so he had to comfort her in her time of need. Plus she is his mother in law.

"You good sam." he said and pulled away. He looked at her ans ahe sighed.

"I haven't been honest with you." she said and Chris looked at her confused.

"What you mean?" he asked and she gave him a paper.

"She is here. She works down in Miami." she said and Chris looked at Sam with wide eyes.

"Are you serious?!" he smiled snd Sam nodded.

"I thought you were just some crazy man looking to kill her but i see your not."

"Wait so all that crying was fake?" Chris asked and she nodded.

"I made on mistake loosing my daughter im not going to make it again." she said and Chris nodded. "But there is something you should know before you go see her." Sam said and she had a sad expression.

"What?" Chris asked.

"When i found her she had no memory of somethings. Somethings came back but others didn't." she said and Chris looked at her.

"Wait so she might not remember me?" Chris asked and Sam nodded. Chris heart fell into his stomach.

He knew something was going to happen but not this. The possibility of her not remembering him scared him.

How can Nicole forget her first love? Her first everything. Chris looked at Sam.

"Thank you a lot. Really." he said and Sam nodded and they hugged and then Chris walked back to the car. He got in and Mike looked at him.

"So what she say? Has she seen Nicole?" Mike said and Chris looked at him.

"Who is in the mood for Miami?" Chris said and Mike smile. Chris looked at Mark.

He was asleep. Chris woke him up. "Aye man we in Florida." Chris said and Mark jumped up.

"Really. I live here!" he said and Chris nodded. "Where we going?"
"Miami." Chris said and Mark and smiled.

"Dude you reading my mind. My friend works down there. She is going to me so happy to see me." he said and Chris nodded.

They drove 2 and a half hours to Miami and too a walmart.

"Damn you girl work here too?!" Mark said and Chris looked at him.

"Aye man this some weird shit how yall gitls work here." Mike said and they nodded.

They got out the van and walked in.

Chris felt his heart pounding out his chest. The emotion he was feeling was something he almost never feels.

Apprehensive

His head started to pound butbhe kept him self together. He took this time to go and get some water from the water fountain.

"Aye man my girl take her break at 3 so we can just wait her cause all them come here to clock out anyway." Mark said and Chris and Mike nodded.

Chris sat down on the bench and but his head in his hands. He was so nervous right now. Mike sat down next to him.

"Nigga you good?" Mike nodded and Chris looked at him.

"What if she don't remember me?" chris asked as he looked down at the floor. Mike looked at him confused. "Back at Nicole mom house she said that Nicole lost her memory. She remembered somethings but not everything." Chris said and Mike sighed.

"Damn that is some fucked up shit man." Mike said and Chris nodded.

"Its like when i go up one space i get knocked back two." Chris and said and Mike nodded.

They sighed Mark looked at hem. "Damn man i thought yall would have been happy right now." Mark said and Chris stood up.

"Aye man its three." he said and Mark looked.

"Wait i see her!" he said and waved his hand. "Nicole!" he said and Chris and Mike looked at him.

"Who?!" they both said. Mark looked at them strange.

"My girl Nicole." he pointed. They followed his hand and seen her.

Chris looked at her with hisnmouth hung open as she walked down the aisle with her friend laughing.

"Nicole!" Mark said and she looked. She seen Mark and waved.

Then she seen Chris. Her eyes wided as she stood still. Her friends looked at her confused. "Nicole girl you good?" they asked.

Chris stood there with his hands open a little.

Nicole looked at him putting the piece of her mind together. She covered her mouth in awe.

"Chris?" she said and he smiled. She ran to him and jumped in his arms. He spun her around and she cried in his chest. "I missed you so much Chris!" che scream and people looked at her.

"Nicole you know him?" Mark asked. Chris put her down and she looked at Chris.

"This is my husband."
