"Thank you, sir."
"You're welcome ma'am. Have a nice day."
The taxi driver pulled away and left me with all my bags on the the front steps of Illéa Academy. And lemme just tell you something. It's HUGE. The doors are at least 15 feet high. Elegant brick outlined the doors in different shades of brown. The academy looked like a friggin castle.
I attempted to pick up all my bags at once but ultimately failed. So I just dragged them over to the side of the steps that lead up to the giant doors. I left them there and walked up the steps.
I'm assuming that class is in session because there are no students in sight. I walk to the giant doors where two doormen pull them open for me. I walk inside and gasp.
It's a huge hall at least 40 feat wide and fifty feet tall. Elegant chandeliers hung from the ceiling. Dark wood plastered the walls and it looked like a castle. I was almost certain it once was.
I looked to the side and saw a regular sized door with a plaque above it.
Office, it read.
Ok then, so I just go in there and get my dorm number, keys, and my schedule. Easy enough.
I walk through the door and up to the front desk. The lady behind it looks strict and business-like. Her hair brown was pulled back in a tight bun and her cat-eye glasses rested far down her nose. I looked at the plaque on her desk. Ms. Sylvia, It read.
I politely cleared my through and Ms. Sylvia looked up from her paperwork. She eyed me up and down then scrunched her nose and sighed.
"Uh-" I began.
Ms. Sylvia cut me off. "The new student. Transfer by the looks of it. We need to get you ready then I will call another student down to show you around the school. You will begin your classes tomorrow after we get you situated. I'll have some maids bring your bags to your-"
She stopped.
"Umm." I said, confused.
"Where are your bags?" Ms. Sylvia stood and walked around her desk to stand beside me.
I quickly processed what she was talking about. "I left them at the bottom of the front steps. I couldn't carry them inside by myself."
"I'll have some maids retrieve them. For now, here is your schedule, key, and your dorm number is E17." She paused for a second and did another once over on me. "Now come with me. We need to fix you up."
"Um, ok." I followed Ms.Sylvia to a back room where she sat me on a chair in front of a mirror and left.
Uhhh ok. I'll just wait here then. I looked around, taking in my surroundings. I was sitting at a vanity. The kind movie stars would sit at to get ready. There was a closet in the corner and other than that it was a simple room. A few shelves here and there. It wasn't small but it was homie.
Suddenly another woman walks in. She has her blonde hair pulled back into a tight bun as well. She is wearing a uniform that read "STAFF" on the back and the front shirt pocket had the name "Lucy" embroidered onto it.
"Hello sweetie. Imma just do a few things to your features and get your uniform, then I'll turn you over to the other girl waiting for you outside." Lucy said, walking over and picking up a brush.
"Alright." I replied.
Lucy brushed through my long hair. Then she took out scissors and I gasped.
Lucy realized something "Sorry, I forgot to ask, can I cut your hair?"
I thought for a second before replying.
