Today,
Was my first day
At my new school
The kids stared
And pointed
At my curious clothing
Mother says
They're just jealous of your unique style
She lies
To make me feel
Comfortable
I met one friend
Her name is Olivia
What a strange name...
I think
She came to our small apartment
She says
Why is it so small? Why don't you live in a house?
I want to tell her
But I am scared
I will get rejected
Once again
It's just until my mother gets a job,
Then we will live in a mansion!
A new word I have learned
She smiles
Uncle Qayoom
Says, Hi there!
She asks if he is my father
I reply yes
I am scared to tell
