Part One: Immortals
Chapter 1-Counter Parts
A group of men appeared in the woods. They had not just suddenly appeared for the leaves ruffled upon their arrival. The men all seemed startled to see each other. All of them were wearing jeans and long sleeve shirts that fit them snuggly, but that was the only thing that was similar between them. "Seth I was not expecting you," said the first man with a beard and green eyes
"Nor did I expect you Raphael," Seth said. "And who are your friends," Seth asked gesturing to the other two who tensed up in expectation
"I was about to ask you the same question," Raphael said also tensing up.
"My name is Gabriel and this is my brother Jacob. Master Lucas did not tell us that you all were going to be here," the taller of the two strangers with bleach blonde hair said.
"Our lord did not mention you two either," Seth said.
"Father rarely does give much detail," Raphael said, "I think he thinks it's funny to watch our reactions. But the real question is how do we know that these two aren't our enemy who had tailed us?"
The four men tensed, their eyes began to dim and then the pupils began to turn blue. "If you really are children of Master Lucas," Gabriel said, "Show us the marks."
The men looked at each for a second and they rolled their sleeves. A tattoo of an arrow was burnt into their skin on their forearms. Satisfied Raphael said, "Now, now my brothers," We may have just met but we all belong to the Coven and Master has always treated us all with love and gave us the training we needed so many years ago. We are brothers and as such we need to behave. We all know that our Coven has generally been separated because when such a large group of our kind stays together it tends to draw problems".
They all grumbled and agreed. "We have a few more miles to travel to Master's house," Gabriel said. "We can all get some food and then travel together. I'm absolutely starving," he said holding his stomach, a look of mock anguish on his face.
"Master will have food I'm sure. Let's just go to his house. But I agree with you. I'm hungry," Jacob said. They all nodded and they turned north farther into the woods. They took a step in perfect unison, the leaves rustled and they were gone.
A few miles north, the four men appeared at a large mansion. At first glance it looked like an old church that had been broken down and left in the woods years ago to rot, but upon further inspection you could tell that there was somebody living there. The gates did not creak from rust when you pushed them open, and, although outside the gates the weeds and trees had been overgrown and many had fell over, inside the gate the grass was neatly trimmed and any weeds that were ever found were quickly pulled away by some house caretaker. The trail the led to the house was quite handsome and the mailbox at the beginning of the drive way was never used, but the name Garrison was still in bright beautiful letters. The four men walked towards the house. They walked up the nice stairs to the front door and the door opened as if in waiting.
"It seems Mistress Carrie hasn't lost her theatrical touch," Seth said. The four men laughed. They entered into the foyer, the magnificent chandelier shining brightly like a midnight sun. They took in their surroundings and then a man appeared around a corner, a glass of wine in his hand.
He was tall and slender with light crisp blonde hair. He smiled at them after taking them in. He was dressed cargo shorts and a t shirt. "My sons oh how good it is to see you all again!" He moved over to them and shook each of the boy's hands. "It has been so long how have you all been? Seth how is your constructions in Europe coming along?" "Very well, sir, thank you for asking," "And Gabriel I understand that your work in the military has gotten to make you one of the youngest officers in the United States Army," Lucas said with a proud smile, "Come now my son you mustn't cheat with your gifts, it's just not fair for the others!"
