BIG SCHOOL!

AHH HERE WE ARE! We have moved up another step in life and we have reached primary school! (Years kindergarten,1,2,3,4,5&6)
I can remember stepping through the gates of my primary school, and watching all of the parents hugging their children, not wanting to leave them. Everyone was talking, the kids were playing and the teachers were trying to calm everyone down. We use to have mighty mates in school, which meant that the kids in year six would be in charge of taking care of 1-2 kindergarten students, and were meant to be with them at lunch or recess and check in on them. I can't quite remember the name of mine but I had 3 mighty mates that I shared with Lily (my friend that has been with me since I can remember). On the first day we were to do simple activities such as colouring or dress ups. As the days went on we learnt more social skills and I eventually learnt how to colour in the lines and write my name properly !

Year 1 was probably my favourite year, as my soon to be 2 best friends had arrived at the school. My teachers name was Mrs WhiteHead and she was not my personal favoured, but I guess we all have one.

"Welcome to class, please sit down as I have a new student to introduce! This girls name is Ruby"(not real name, using fake names for people I would prefer not to introduce xx)
Mrs WhiteHead was talking about Ruby for a while until she asked someone to tour her around the school.
"Lucy, would you like to take Ruby for a tour around the school along with her parents and the principal please?"
I looked up and smiled. I was ready to make a new friend.
After an hour of walking and talking around the school, the lunch bell rang and Ruby was alone so I sat with her.
We talked an talked and eventually became best friends in the end, and we don't talk as much these days but she is still there for me, and I am there for her as it was on her first day at my primary school.

About a term later in the year, as I walked into the school there was a girl that was new standing outside of my classroom.
As my father walked out of the gates I made my way over to my class and stepped inside. I welcomed the girl in and my teacher greeted her.
"Hello! Welcome to this lovely school. May I ask what your names are?" My teacher has a big smile on her face.
"Hello, my name is Maria and I am Georgias mum, we are meant to be in your class, correct?" Georgia looks very worried and shy.
"Yes yes! Come in please" Mrs Whitehead asks georgia to come inside the classroom.

She talks about georgia and asks her to introduce herself, as she did with Ruby.
"Now, I am going to ask Lucy once again to please take georgia around the school and make her feel welcomed"

I stand up from the mat and make my way towards her. We follow her mum out of the door and walk around.
When we get back, we talk for a little bit more. After that day, I am still best best friends with Georgia today, 9 years and still counting! We don't live close but when we have the time we visit each other, we do and we always have a good laugh.

Year 2 was a troubled year, now I have 2 new best friends but it isn't good when there's that one girl in the year who likes to take things from you that you love, like your best friend.
It was a normal school day although georgia was in Greece, so I was with Ruby
As I walk through the gates, I see her sitting
with Jessica (not real name). As I walk over, Jessica gives me a deadly look, as if I was her enemy. I go to sit down and jessica warns me.
"Leave now Lucy, we don't want you hear, and don't come back". I was devastated. I was hurt. I was stabbed in the back.
Ruby was very shy and not confident with standing up for other people or her self so she just watched me walk away. Lily was with her friends so I sat alone all day.

Year 3 I can't quite remember clearly although I do remember my teacher who was a very tired old man called Mr Gins. He use to fall asleep in class which was pretty funny, but he was very strict. That year I learnt a lot and topped a few subjects.

Year 4 was my second favourite year. I had my all time favourite teacher Mrs Davies, who sadly moved schools at the end of the year. I had Georgia in my class, which was the best.

My favourite memory from that year would have to be when Georgia and I had a shared assignment that we had to do. We did a presentation in front of the class, and that never works with georgia and I. We start of by reading it out loud and explaining the images shown. Whilst georgia is talking she stuffs up a word and we both crack up with laughter. Every time we both tried to talk, laughter over took it and it just went on. Because I use to have asthma attacks I had one, so I ran over to have a drink and get my puffer. My teacher was very angry with us but I will never forget that day.

Year 5 came along and I was in a class with lily. We fell distant a little bit in years 2,3,4 so this was good that we had time together. We became closer and closer as the year went on, we made memories that year and I am so glad that it went the way it did. We had the job of watering the class plant once or twice a week. Of course knowing us we killed the plant multiple times but we always could have a laugh. A thing that we use to do while our teacher was reading the book was give each other 'back tickles'. Lily and I came up with the idea then people joined on. What we would do is sit in a line behind one another (it was usually 4 girls) and just lightly scratch each other's back. It sounds crazy but trust me, it felt so nice 😂😂. This year was also one of the saddest as my best friend georgia was now leaving me to go and live 2 hours away in Sydney, Australia. I was devastated and so upset.

Year 6, the last year of primary. How exciting! This year was also one of my faves, as it was full of new experiences and friends. My friendship group grew and I eventually was in a group with a bunch of girls and we played netball at lunch and recess.
