Chapter 1

Josh POV

I was ten years old. I was in my home in Union Kentucky. It was a sunny normal Saturday. You see, I auditioned for this movie, Little Manhattan, and I thought I wasn't gonna get the part of Gabe the main character and I was supposed to get a letter saying if I got the part or not. My mom came home from work so I looked at the window and saw her car parked right next to her garden. I saw a letter in her hands. Could it be? was that the letter of my dreams? it was time to find out. My mom came in the door

" Hi honey! Guess what I have?"

"Is it what I think it is mom?"

"Oh yes it is!"

I grabbed the letter right out of her hands and opened it to my surprise.

I skimmed the whole paper word by word. I saw one word. the word that changed my life. That word was "congratulations" I screamed with my excitement but my brother told me to shut up.

I was the happiest person in the world I can't believe I have the part if the main character in an actual movie! I was sitting there thinking what my life would be like. Would I be a successful actor when I'm older? or will I be that person in the movie.

10 years later I started to get roles in lots of movies. there was this movie that I heard of that was a book before. it was a flyer saying "The Hunger Games Auditions Saturday" saying all the information I needed. I've heard of the series before but I never read it. I went to the closest book store I could possibly find and found THG series. I bought it and drove home as fast as I could.

It was Wednesday and I needed to read it before Saturday so I did. I read the whole series in 2 days. I was really excited for the auditions. I was going for Peeta one of the main characters. It was Friday night and I was exhausted. I knew I was ready for my audition. I went to bed.

It was the next morning 7:30 am I woke up extra early to go over my lines. the audition started at 10:30. I got into my car and drove as fast as I could to the adressed place. I ended up at someone's house."mabey this is the wrong address" I thought but it wasn't. I saw so many people come into the house. I was confused. so I asked someone if this was the right address for auditions. I got out if my car and I bumped into such an amazing actress. So pretty and so funny. I asked Her "Hi do you know where the auditions are for The Hunger Games?" She replies "there right here at this house." she sounded like she had food in her mouth so I started to laugh. She was eating mentos just so her breath could smell good for the audition. she laughed along with me. we walked in The house together as we laughed.

I asked her "What role are you going for?" She was still chewing on the mentos but she gave me a reply "Katniss Everdeen. What are you going for?" I replied with "Peeta Mellark"

We were talking for a while about the characters about who we thought would and would not get the parts. We laughed for most if the time.

I asked her whose house were in and she replied with "a stranger" I laughed a little. But then I heard a lady's voice across the hall. she was tall. and I looked very carefully at her. she looked familiar. She yelled "Auditions over here!" we both went over and she dropped all her mentos. She was too lazy to pick them up so she just kicked them under the table. We heard the lady's voice again. "Hello everyone. my name is Suzanne Collins. I will be doing auditions. I wish everyone the best of luck and may the odds be ever in your favor." Jen and I were talking the whole time

Jen and I were sitting in Suzanne's living room waiting for our auditions. We waited for four hours but we had a nice time. We sat on the couch eating mentos laughing together. It was one of the best times I've ever had in my life, (even though I was sitting on a couch for four hours). We were talking untill we heard the words "Jennifer Lawrence". Jen was called up for her audition. She stood up and said to me "good luck and mabey if you wanted to after are auditions we could go out to dinner? But like somewhere non fancy like Moes! Or we could go back to my place and order a pizza! I love pizza!" I replied with a simple ok. She gave me her address. " how about...6:30 tonight?" Jen asked. I said "that's perfect! See you at 6:30!". She waved goodbye to me as she walked across the hallway on the hard wood floor. You could hear her perfect voice from across the hallway. Her hair was brown like the wood on the floor. I could hear her crisp words nice and loud. About a minute after she finished her audition. She walked past me with the words "I'll see you later"

one hour later I heard my name "Josh Hutcherson". I stood up and walked right over to Suzanne. I had a feeling inside. I had the feeling that I could do it but I couldn't. That I was gonna fail and mess up and never get in another movie again. That I'll lose the fact that I'm gonna be famous. But I believed in myself. My palms were sweating like crazy but I held it in. I said the words i needed to say.

Suzanne was pleased with a smile on her face, but all she said was "Next!" I walked away and said thank you. it was 6:00 by the time I finished. I remembered that I had my "date" with Jen. I got outside to see myself looking at about thousands of cars parked by Suzanne's house. I could easily notice my car because it was the one with the white stripes (I like to design my car). I ran to my car as fast as I could. I put my sweating hot palms on the handle, opened the door and drove as fast as I could.
