"BANG"
Everybody stopped with what they were doing. Wendy looked at her book and then back at the boy she just hit with the back of the book. She wanted to say something, apologise but she couldn't. She tried to speak but nothing came out. She mouthed a 'sorry' before running out of the school building straight to her older brother. Leaving the hopeless in love boy behind.
She ran all the way, not stopping once. She stumbled a couple of times but didn't fall. When she finally arrived at the house he was working, she didn't even bothered to knock. She opened the front door, took a turn left that led her into the kitchen where her brother was making lunch. She gave him a tight hug while tears started to flow. She tried to speak but she couldn't. Her brother told her to sit down. He brought the plate away. When he came back he made some tea and sat down with his younger sister.
"Tell me what happened," he ordered his younger sister. He took a sip of his tea while looking at the younger girl in front of him.
"Today was just horrible," she stirred her tea for a couple of minutes before continuing. She didn't want go further with her story, she was afraid her brother would judge her.
"It okay if you don't want to tell me," He gives her a warm smile. "Why don't you go home, read a book. I will come home soon."
Wendy nods and takes a last sip of her tea. The walk home was short. When she arrived home she immediately walks to her room. She didn't come downstairs for dinner. When she finished her book she went to sleep. Her mother knocked on the door and asked if she could come in but she was ignored.
Klaus told his mother to give her some time. He was already told the story of what happened. He understood why she was so upset. Not upset with the Blythe boy, but upset with herself. She swore to never be like him. She was afraid that by this action she would slowly fade into his ways.
The days went by. Wendy still didn't go to school. She left her room to eat or bring a book back and come back with the other.
"When will Wendy come back to school?" Klaus turned around and saw Gilbert standing leaning against the wall. Gilbert told Klaus what happened and in return Klaus told Gilbert he was Wendy her older brother. Gilbert has been asking why she didn't come back to school when she stopped showing herself at school. First he asked why she didn't' come. Klaus couldn't get an clear answer out of himself so decided to tell Gilbert it was 'complicated'. The Gilbert started asking when she would return.
"Soon." Klaus said and focused again on what he was doing. Klaus had been saying soon ever since Gilbert started asking when she would come back. Gilbert turned around and walked away. Clearly not satisfied by the answer he had gotten.
When klaus got home he went straight to Wendy her room. He was tired of the Blythe boy asking where she was and he was tired of his sister locked up in her room. He didn't mind the reading but he did mind the fact that she didn't come out of her room or talked to anyone.
He opened the door without knocking. He walked in and sat on the other side of the bed, next to the blonde haired girl.
"You have to go back to school." He looked at her. She had her eyes on the book. He slightly pushed her on her side. She finally stopped reading and looked at her older brother. Her eyes were dull. They always were dull, but not this dull. (I don't know if that is possible...)
"I can't." She said. Sorrow was filled in her voice.
"Apologize to him then." Klaus tried to reason with her. She looked a back to her book that lied closed on her legs.
"Then think about going back to school." She looked back up at him.
"Promise you won't obligate me to go?" She looked at him with pleading eyes. She wanted to go back. She wanted to learn but she didn't know if she could.
Her brother gave her a smile and pulled her into his arms. She snuggled against his chest and listened to his breathing. When they were little and Wendy had a nightmare she would come to her brother. He would gave her a hug and only let go if she was asleep and bring her back to her bed.
