I looked out through the car window watching the rain trickle down the glass. As I got closer to school the rain started coming down harder against my windshield. I was pulling into school when something on the radio caught my attention. "There have been several animal attacks spreading through Marietta Georgia. We think it could be related to the animal attack that happened at a local high school party only several months ago." The reporter said. I turned off the radio not wanting to hear anymore. After I got out of the car I ran through the parking lot, not wanting to get completely soaked by the rain. I reached the door, pulled it open quickly, and went inside. I was dreading class because I knew I would see Harry and Brooke. I casually walked into class and sat down in my seat, putting my bag on the floor beside my desk. I looked straight ahead at what the teacher was doing on the board, trying as hard as I can not to look at Harry. "Alyssa can I talk to you? Please?" I heard Brooke say behind me. "No" I said back, not even looking at her. I fought back the feeling of betrayal and loss. Betrayal because she told the whole school I slept with Harry when she knew it would hurt me and that I didn't want anyone to know. Loss because she was my best friend. WAS my best friend.

Brooke opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by the sound of people jumping from there seats as lightning flashed through the sky outside the window. The thunder made the windows shutter and I looked out the window to see rain poring down hard and lightning in the distance. I didn't even realize it started storming because I was too worried about Harry and Brooke. Then the power went out in the school and classmates around me started muttering in confusion and annoyance. "Everyone please just sit back down! I'm sure the power will come back on, but for now just sit down." The teacher said, rummaging through her desk drawer for a flashlight. Many people were calling there parents or turning on the flashlights on there IPhones. I was surprised that the principle hadn't come on the intercom yet to make announcements about what we should do. Something didn't feel right.

I reached down into my bag to get my phone so I could text my parents but a hand grabbed my arm from behind me. I felt a cold sensation go through my body. "Brooke I don't wanna talk right now." I said, trying to pry my arm away. But then I saw Brooke in the corner of the room, talking on the phone with her parents. If she's over there then who's behind me? Before I could turn around I got pulled out the door by the person holding my arm in a tight grip. When the hand released me, I looked up to see Harry, closing the door to the classroom and facing me. I just stood there looking into his green eyes which looked lighter then usual. Then I came back to reality and tried to get back into the classroom, rolling my eyes at him. "Not so fast." He said, grabbing my arm again. I shivered at his touch. I hope he didn't notice. He then pulled me down the dark hallway and towards the exit. "We are leaving." He said firmly. "Are you crazy?" I asked him, pulling my arm away and stopping in my tracks. "I guess I am." He said with a smirk.
