I woke up at 10:00am and was already late. When I checked my phone, there were 254 text messages from my best friend, Alexia Blake. She was more like a sister than a best friend to me. She had already helped me through a lot, and that's why I woke up so early on a Saturday. Here's the deal. Alexia (who I call Lexi) was totally addicted to this app "Vine", where people post 6 second videos doing crazy or funny stuff. I particularly thought it was pretty immature. I thought it was ridiculous that so many people got so much attention for those stupid little videos that most of the times weren't even funny. I didn't know anything about this kind of stuff, but what Lexi explained to me was that there was going to be some kind of event where some of these famous viners would give you autographs, take pictures with you... Basically, you would get the chance to meet some of them and talk to them. Honestly, that was the last thing in the universe I'd like to do, principally because I didn't even think the viners that were gonna be on that event were that nice. I saw all of them as attention seekers... While some other girls were hoping they'd ask them to marry them. The thing is, Lexi's favorite viner in the world was gonna be on that event that day. So she forced me to go with her. And I promised I would. And it was just when I woke up so early that weekend I realized how much I regretted I agreed to do that.
Incoming call - Lexi.
-Hell - I said, but before I could even finish, Lexi was already talking, or should I say screaming.
- OH THANK YOU SWEET LORD, you're awake! We're gonna be late! C'mon, please, you know how much I've waited for this Mel! - She said, so fast she didn't even breathe. I laughed.
- I'll be ready in 10. Oh, Lex. What in the world don't I do for my best friend? - I said.
- I'm not kidding, please be ready soon... You know I'll never talk to you again if I don't see my bae today! - She said. I laughed so hard.
- Who the hell's your bae?
- Cam Dallas. Now, go take a shower you lazy ass. I'll be there to pick you up in 5 minutes. - She hung up and I smiled. She was ridiculous, but she was my best friend...
I took a shower and put on the first shirt I saw, and a jeans.
Message from Alexia Parker
I opened it and it said she was already downstairs. I didn't even have time for breakfast... I left home and saw Lexi sitting in her car, biting her nails. I laughed and told her how pathetic she looked.
- Can you stop it? I'm nervous.
I got into the car and turned on the radio. Blurred Lines was playing, so I turned it off (because I couldn't stand that song anymore), and decided to talk to Lexi the whole way through.
-Hey, who's Paul Dallas again? - I said. She hit me in the arm.
- It's CAMERON Dallas, you stupid ass! - She said, angrily, making me laugh again. - He's the best in the world. He's soo cute! I was praying all night he'd tell me I'm beautiful today. And then we'd fall in love, he'd ask me to go out with him and we'd just be together forever... And have a little girl named Skylyn, after his best friend's sister, Nash.
I didn't pay attention to anything she said. But I pretended to, and smiled.
- Well, good luck then. - Then I fell asleep.
- Mel, wake up! Wake up for God's sake! - I opened my eyes to see Lexi freaking out. - We're here!
I looked out the window and saw this giant building.
- Is it here? Are you sure? - I said, surprised because I didn't think this event was such a big deal.
- Yeah, I'm sure! C'mon.
We entered a line of 200 people probably. After one more hour, we got in. Then Lexi started screaming.
- OH MY GOD IT'S CAMERON, IT'S REALLY CAMERON OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!!!
- Oh my fucking gosh... Calm down please Alexia, c'mon he's just a normal guy.
She went and hugged Cameron. And started crying. And then told him about her plan of getting married and having a kid named... Skai? I didn't understand anything she was saying. He probably didn't too. He laughed and said she was beautiful, what made her eyes start glowing. She hugged him once again, and then it was my turn to meet him... But I didn't actually want to.
- Next! - The security said. Lexi was still trying to stay with Cameron, hugging his neck and kissing his cheek. A security had to pull her away, what I actually thought was pretty funny.
- Your name, sweetheart? - Cameron said. He actually was very pretty with his big brown eyes and beautiful brown hair. His smile was even more beautiful, and you could tell his body was on point too. But I didn't still see what every girl saw.
- Melissa McDonald - I said. He wrote "to Melissa, the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, Cameron." I started laughing of how ridiculous that was... He probably wrote that to every single girl he saw. - Thank you.
I left but then he pulled my arm.
- Hey, wait! Arm... Where you from? - He said.
- I live one hour away from here actually. - I said, kind of rude.
- You're very pretty. How old are you again?
- 17 - I said, being rude again.
The security called:
-Next!
He said:
- Can you give me your number?
I stared at him, kind of confused. His eyes were begging.
- Ahm... Okay...
I wrote down my real number on a paper he was holding and left. He didn't ask Lexi for her number. I was very confused and afraid she would get mad at me or something. So I didn't say anything.
