It was early in the morning when Daisy shot out of bed, a sheet of sweat covering her body. She gasped for breath, running her fingers through her hair as she replayed the nightmare again.

Daisy was in the middle of the road, forest surrounding her from all angles. She was alone and completely petrified - but she had no idea why.

Her feet were glued in their spot, and no matter how many times she tried to run, she couldn't. She was stuck right where she was.

A low growl from behind her sent her spinning around, coming face to face with a group of pale people - all with golden brown eyes and strikingly attractive features.

"Who are you?" Daisy asked them, shocking herself at how strong but foreign her voice sounded. She hasn't talked in the longest time.

"You're on the wrong side," a short girl with equally short black hair said. She looked like the gothic version on Tinkerbell, Daisy thought.

"What?" The once mute girl questioned.

"They'll hurt you," the pixie said again while raising her hand, pointing to something behind Daisy. "Look and see for yourself."

Daisy was spun around again. She expected to see the road again, but she was no longer stranded in the middle of the road. She was stranded in the middle of the forest outside of Sam's house - and she was along.

A twig snapping gained her attention and she turned her head just in time to see herself running. Daisy was confused - what was she running from?

Her silent question was answered when she saw another wolf dart out from behind Daisy, an unfamiliar wolf.

The wolf leaped into the air, throwing its one leg forward. The claws caught Daisy in the back, slashing downwards, causing Daisy to collapse onto the forest floor with a deafening scream.

And that was Daisy's dream.

After she is able to catch her breath, Daisy pushes herself up and wanders out of her room. She needed a glass of water to soothe the ache she felt in her throat. But as she rounded the corner to the kitchen, three voices halted her advance.

"What do you mean?" Her uncle Billy asked, confusion evident in her voice.

"There are vampires in Forks," Issac's voice was clear and seemingly but Daisy knew better than that. She knew her brother better than anyone - and she knew he was scared.

"The Cullens are back?" Billy asked, sighing. He was tired of dealing with the drama that seemed to circulate around that family.

"Not the Cullens," Jacob said. His voice was laced with distaste. Daisy didn't blame them - from what she seldom heard of the family, she didn't like them either.

This confused Billy. "Then who?"

"We don't know who they are or what they want," Issac says. Daisy can picture him running his hands through his curls in frustration. "We just keep chasing her out of our lines. But she just keeps coming back."

"What does Sam say about it?" Billy asks.

"He wants us to keep our eyes out and to never let our guards down." Jacob says. "He doesn't want her killing anyone else on the Reservation - anywhere, really."

"What's the plan?"

"Increased patrolling, more rounds, less time to sleep or go to school." Issac says and Daisy can hear the tiredness in his voice.

"And what do the rest of the boys say about this?"

"Jared and Paul are fine with it - as long as the girls are safe then they don't care what they have to do." Issac says. "I don't mind either - I'd do anything to keep my sister safe."

Worry bubbled in Daisy's stomach - she didn't want anyone getting hurt in sake of keeping her safe, especially Paul, Issac, and Jacob. She would never be able to forgive herself if harm came to any of the guys because of her.

Daisy peeked her head around the corner, biting her lip in nervousness as she looked at the serious faces of the three men in the kitchen. They were speaking about what they had to do.

"Would you two be willing to lay your life down to keep the people safe?" Billy asked.

"Of course," Issac said with no hesitation in his voice whatsoever.

"It's my duty, dad," Jacob said, his voice pained. "But I would've liked a choice in this."

"You can't pick your genes, Jake," Issac mumbled.

"So, you'll fight if that's what it comes down to?"

"Of course," the two boys answered simultaneously.

A small gasp left Daisy's lips as the realization of what they meant dawned on her - they were planning to fight the vampires in La Push.

Issac's eyes landed on his sister who was leaned around the doorway, cradling herself. She looked like she did when she was younger and would come into Issac's room after having a bad dream.

"Daisy," the brother gushed sadly, quickly moving to his sister's side. He pulled her out from her hiding place, wrapping his arms around her tightly. "What are you doing up?"

Daisy shook her head, sniffling. She didn't want any of them getting hurt - or worse, dying - all because of a stupid vampire. She would be overcome with herself.

"Here," Jacob quietly said, standing behind the embracing duo with a whiteboard and a marker.

Daisy wiped her eyes, taking the board from her cousin with a forced smile. Are you guys going to be okay fighting the vampires?

"It's what we're trained to do, Daisy," her brother says, cupping her cheeks. "None of us will get hurt, we're all smarter than that. You know this."

She pulls her head out of her grasp, quickly jotting down an answer. You can't tell the future, Issac.

"I know my pack, Daisy, and I know that we aren't going to let two bloodsuckers get anything less than what they deserve." Issac says.

"We're faster and stronger than them," Jacob comes to Issac's aid. "They won't know what hit them, D."

Daisy sniffles again, nodding her head before pulling the two teens into a hug. She holds them tight, never wanting to let them go.

"Can't . . . breathe," Issac says, causing his sister to laugh and loosen her arms. He smiles at her and she returns it, feeling better than she had a few minutes prior.

Daisy let's the two of them go, smiling at them. I love you both so much.

"We love you too, Daisy," Jacob gives the girl a quick side hug. "Never forget that."

"As much as I love watching this," Billy starts. "The two of you boys have to go, before Sam gets angry."

Issac nods, kissing his sister on the forehead before running out the door with Jacob. Billy and Daisy are left alone in the kitchen.

"Why don't we whip up some breakfast, yeah?" Billy says, smiling at the mute. He knew she wasn't happy with their quick departure but then again, neither was he.
