Maria POV

I wake up to the sound of Paramore's Hard Times playing in my left ear. I fell asleep with my earphones in again, that's not good for your brain. I still feel tired. But I know i can't really do . anything about it so I go over to the bathroom to start getting ready. 

I start my routine with a nice shower, which really helped me wake up and feel better. I changed and wore a black checkered skirt, a black crop top and a light denim jacket. Then i did my makeup + hair routine for the day. I'm really into beauty and fashion and things like that, so i enjoy the time i get to spend on myself. 

Today i felt like doing a glam-ish look, so i put on my regular face makeup, some rose gold shimmery eyeshadow, and a bold winged liner. I kept my lips a natural nude and added some bronzer even though i'm already pretty tan. 

I look in the mirror and smile, pleased with the end result. I feel attractive most of the time but i still have my bad days. My eyes are a crystal bright green, my hair is naturally black and falls halfway to my thigh. Yes i know it's very long but i love it. I have pretty small lashes though, so i wear falsies on a daily basis.

Well, time to go face another day, which isn't so bad. I'm really hungry though because last night i barely had an supper. They were serving meatloaf and honestly i just wasn't feeling it too much. I walk downstairs and find my usual friends. Jeremy, Lisa, and Hanako were sitting at the table and saved me a spot. Hanako gestures for me to sit next to her. 

''So, did you guys hear that there is a family coming here looking to adopt a kid?'' Jeremy says. 

I nod my head even though i had no idea. I didn't want to get my hopes up for nothing. I let them continue their conversation about the difference between oranges and clementines and pour myself a bowl of cheerios. 

It's going to be an interesting day.
