Crazy. Everything has been crazy. Though I've enjoyed my time back here, it's still been crazy.
My father and I have been redoing the whole house in an attempt to make it look brand new. I've been trying to clean every room that was already finished so the guys won't have to worry about anything gross popping up, too. Overall, the progress is being done at a decently fast rate.
My dad is aware of the situation going on with the guys, too. To be frank, he doesn't care as those two were very helpful when he needed some backup.
In this outrageous changing period, I set up a basketball hoop in the driveway, and I've been using the field in my backyard to my advantage. Whenever I can't sleep or something of the sort, I run laps around the expanse of grass. Sometimes, I get my soccer ball out and kick goals into a net that was shipped in with the mirror, too.
I've been hanging around Pop's more often than I did before I left as well, and I'm enjoying myself. Sometimes the guys will come by and say hello or something like that, but that's nearly it. Jughead, though it may be slightly unbelievable, has been the one to actually sit and have full conversations with me more often than not. This has only added fuel to a growing fire. I've deduced that I am falling for the ravenette, though I wish I wasn't...
As romantic feelings work, Jughead jas also become a main part of my thoughts. I mean, what if he doesn't like me back? Have I changed too much? Do I need to change anymore?
I hope to God that this doesn't end badly, because the only guy who liked me was less of a guy with a crush and more of a stalker, and I had to play soccer with him nearly everyday when it came time to restart the seasonal co-ed team. He would follow me, he'd write me creepy notes, he would even try to worm his way into conversations my friends and I would have with some random stuff that didn't pertain to the topic we were chatting about. He was just extremely disturbing, and I'm glad that I'm now free from that psycho's eye-line.
Despite that little 'crush' problem, I was planning on going down to the school to see if anything has changed there. Though nothing probably has, I've had the overwhelming desire to check and see. I was all ready -- I even came prepared for Cheryl Not-A-Bombshell, too.
Time to go see. Hopefully, nothing's changed; not like it would, though something could've been moved or redone.
I stepped outside my house and onto the first step, making sure I had everything I needed before I actually got too far. Keys? -- check. Phone and earbuds? -- check. Notebook? -- check. Camera? -- check. Portable charger? -- check.
I noticed my dad outside, but instead of sitting back, he was tending to the plants in front of the house. "You heading out?" he asked me, eyes still glued to the plants.
"Yeah, just going to the school to check out the field and maybe take some pictures. I'll be back soon enough." He sent me a quick smile and nod as I started walking down the street and to the school.
After a while, I made it there. To say I was ecstatic would be an understatement; nothing changed! The football field was the same, the field the soccer players used was the same -- everything was the same! Yes! This is awesome! I can't WAIT to use these to my advantage!
A smile slowly crept its way onto my face as I looked around; not only did nothing change, the scenery was beautiful -- perfect for pictures!
I grabbed my camera and steadied it as I looked for a good thing to photograph first. I finally saw a particularly fresh-looking portion of the soccer field and took a picture. I continued until about half of my camera's memory was used and left to go to Pop's not long after.
When I made it to Pop's, I opened the door and was immediately welcomed by the restaurant's namesake. Pop was pointing in the direction of a table. When I followed Pop's hand, I saw Jughead sitting at a booth, alone like usual. My cheeks warmed up when I saw him. After a few seconds, he looked up and we made eye contact.
I started to walk over there, but got pulled back by a strong hand and thrown into a random booth. Once I had regained my composure, I saw a big mop of curled bright red hair. Cheryl...
"Hey! Didn't expect to see you here!" she said. I found the tone she used disgusting, mostly due to it being so sickly sweet. I faked a smile and prevented myself from letting any choice words slip out of my mouth.
My eyes started to dart around the eatery, eventually meeting Jughead's. Almost like he could tell what I was thinking, he pointed to a booth closer to the one I was forcibly situated in. He stood and moved his belonging to the said booth. With a small gesture of his hand, I had managed to catch what he was implying -- 'I'll listen in'. Thank you, God.
"Hey Cheryl. Uh, yeah...um...what're you doing here? You don't usually come here, so..."
Her eyes lit up. "Oh, me? For food. Well, that and a break. The Vixens that were previously on the squad were pushing me to go shopping with them, so I did, even though I didn't want to. Terrible, right?" I fought the urge to roll my eyes. I sighed and nodded, faking a smile.
We chatted for a little while longer, and she soon had to leave. Her lackeys were outside knocking on the windows as she left the diner. I guess they were trying to get her attention. As she was leaving, I heard her murmer a few words under her breath.
"I hate that chick. Just wish that I could rip those piercings out of her smug face."
"Terrible cheerleader. I hope to God that she doesn't try out for the team."
"Doubt she's gonna be popular once school starts."
As soon as she and her subordinates were gone, I laughed. In the midst of my giggling fit, Jughead moved to the same booth I was sitting in. His smirk could've been noticed from miles away. "You enjoying your return here, I presume?"
With a crooked half-smile plastered on my face, I nodded,"Yes, yes I am. Dare I say, I'm actually looking forward to this school year; Cheryl could get a taste of her own medicine if I play my cards right."
"To try and trick the oh-so-famous (Y/N) (L/N) is to try and predict the future accurately. She hasn't caught on yet, has she?" I confirmed his suspicion excitedly.
Following that encounter, the two of us spent the rest of the time in Pop's discussing random topics. They managed to range from Cheryl and removing her from her throne to how to properly paint a brick wall. While the brick wall conversation was an odd one, it was a fun one overall.
Throughout the whole time we were talking, though, I could see that Jughead was getting a little flustered. Why is he like this? Odd...

06/13/20 (1): Okay, my dear readers! The second revision for today! I know that this isn't much, but again - internet problems and a royally fucked sleep schedule can wreak havoc, after all. Otherwise, I'm not going to announce my birthday again, - mostly because I can't be bothered to - but I will end this little notice with a gigantic 'THANK YOU!' I hope you have a great morning/day/afternoon/evening/night!
06/13/20 (2): Small changes to the dialogue. See previous edit!
