"Sammy, promise me you will live to see your children, grandchildren, even your great-grandchildren grow up," Chrissy spoke, looking at me with pleading eyes.

Chrissy was my roommate in the hospital. And no, I don't mean a regular hospital where you get treated for being sick or something. A behavioral center. A mental hospital. Whatever you call it.

I tried killing myself a month ago, and I tried starving myself weeks before I was admitted here. I've been eating meals, or trying to at least.

I was being sent home since I was better now. Chrissy and I were very close, and I didn't want to leave her. I didn't have an option though.

I looked at her, nodding with tears streaming down my face. I wrapped my arms around her, resting my head on her shoulder.

"And always remember to stick with art. If something is bothering you, draw. If you're angry or upset, draw. Just draw whenever you feel like it, okay?" She asked, causing me to nod.

I pulled away, biting my lip.

"And you stick with singing and writing. You're going to get out soon, I know it. You're doing so good and you've been so happy. Stay strong Chrissy. My address is on the back of the bridge picture i gave you. Send me letters if you want. I'll always respond," I told her, a smile on my face.

"Sammy, are you ready?" My older brother Vince spoke from the doorway. I sighed, nodding.

I gave Chrissy one last hug before following Vince into the hall where a few of his friends were waiting. We walked out to the vehicle in complete silence.

It was late at night so all you could see was light from the street lights shining on the ground. I glanced over at Vince's friend Eyeball, immediately thinking of his younger brother Chris.

I really liked Chris, but no one knew. Only I did, and I made sure I was the only one. I looked back down, watching my feet in my dirty white converse travel down the sidewalk.

"Are you okay there?" Vince asked from the side of me. I smiled up at him, nodding.

"Just a little scared for tomorrow... I don't get why mom is making me go back to work when I just got out of the hospital," I quietly spoke, letting out a breath.

"That's mom for you," Vince joked, trying to cheer me up. I slightly smiled, shaking my head, "But don't worry Sam. It'll be fine. Plus it's only on Saturdays."

"Listen to your brother there. Plus Chris, Gordie and all of your other friends will be there at the speedway to keep you busy, so don't stress about it," Eyeball added.

That boy confused me. He hated his little brothers guts, but he still cared for him in a way. When it came to Chris and I's friendship, Eyeball didn't care.

It's like the Cobras and my friend group all got along when it came to me, which made me happy.

I slid into the front seat of Vince's car, taking Eyeballs spot. Instead, he sat in the back without a problem. In the car beside us was Ace, Billy and Charlie.

I waved at Ace, seeing him smile and wave back.

Ace, he had a heart even though he really didn't show it. He was very rude, but only rude to the people he didn't like. I was basically his little sister since Vince and I lived with him near the Groovy Bar.

My mom lived somewhere else with her new husband, but I still had to follow her rules.

It wasn't that safe there, but it was the only place Ace could afford, plus there was a bar near.

I heard the rumble of the car start, and the jerk of it moving forwards. I took a deep breath, closing my eyes and eventually falling asleep.

The next day, I slowly crawled out of bed, feeling my feet hit the cold floor. I immediately jumped back onto my bed, grabbing a pair of socks from one of the drawers underneath my bed.

I got back up, grabbing my blanket and wrapping it around me. I made my way to the kitchen, seeing a note on the table.

'Fishing with the Cobras. Be back whenever. Nadia is coming around ten to take you out somewhere so be ready. Have fun, but don't get into any trouble. ~ Vince'

I sighed, throwing the note away. I quickly grabbed something to eat before running upstairs to grab a quick shower.

One I was finished, I threw on a pair of jean capris that sat a little bit above my ankle, along with a black shirt which I tucked in.

I searched around my room for my belt, eventually finding it underneath my desk where I had all of my art supplies. I stopped once I saw the last picture I drew before I went to the hospital.

It was a picture of the whole gang. By the whole gang, I meant Nadia, my friend Jenna, Chris, Gordie, Teddy and Vern. Beside was the actual picture of us from the schools year book.

We were all smiling and we all looked happy. We were kind of the rebel kids in a way. Some of us were always in trouble, but others were angels.

Looking at that picture brought back so many memories I knew I could repeat. I'm glad my life didn't end. I didn't know what I was thinking.

I smiled widely, grabbing my red bandana that was beside it and putting it on my head as a head band. Lastly I slid my converse on and made my way back down the stairs.

I saw Nadia already sitting on the couch, grinning. I then heard noises from the kitchen, causing me to become curious.

I took small steps, eventually seeing Jenna digging through the cupboards. That was usual for her and I honestly wasn't surprised.

"What do you think you're doing?" I jokingly asked, crossing my arms as I leaned against the wall. She dropped the bag of cheese curls that were in her hands and face me.

"Sam! Oh, how I have missed you! I haven't seen you all summer! God, I'm so glad you're okay! I missed you so fucking much!" She blabbed on, wrapping her arms around.

I hugged her back, a smile still plastered on my face. I missed her energy and her cussing. She cussed at the smallest things.

I remember her seeing a dog one time, and yelling, "Looking at the fucking dog! It's so fucking cute! Aw, it pisses like a little girl! And shits like one too!"

I didn't swear much because I didn't like it for some reason. I tried once, but it felt wrong. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I felt someone else join the hug.

"I'm so sad they didn't let you have visitors," Nadia spoke. I could see the sadness on both of their faces. I pulled away, placing my hands in the pockets of my jeans. I nervously bit my lip, trying to find words to say.
