The first Wednesday of school I broke up with my girlfriend. It wasn't anything personal, we were not going to the same school because she happened to be two years younger than me and she was still in middle school. We dated twice over the summer, we were both closet bis so we were constantly on and off because we were scared of being of being outed. There was something that came out of my break up and that was Tommy.
The first Thursday came along, I didn't think much of it. Not until I met Tommy in the halls.

The bell rang, it was the end of the day and it was time to go home. I was experimenting the fastest way to get to the bus so I decided to go down the inside stairs and make my way to the bus lot. As I was walking through the down stairs hallway I found a familiar face, it was Tommy. In this moment I decided not to try to get into a relationship, I needed some time before I could, so I thought maybe I would try to befriend Tommy.
"Hey," I said calling his attention.
Tommy looked around then looked down at me. This is when I realized how tall he was.
"Hi?" He said
"You're Tommy right?"
"Yeah,"
"I'm in your english class, I'm Katie."
"Hey, it's nice to meet you. Do you take the bus?" He gave me a smile.
"I do."
"Let me walk you there."
"Alright."
Just like that Tommy and I became friends. Maybe if I hadn't walked down that hallway that day some things wouldn't have turned out the way they did with Tommy...

Tommy ended up having the same lunches as me. He came up to me and took my back pack and walked away messing with me.
"Tommy?" I said following him around the lunch room.
"Yes miss?" He said continuing to walk aroumd with my backpsck with a grin smeared on his face.
"Give me my backpack."
"I'm sorry miss, this is my backpack." He said giving off a laugh.
"Oh really why does it have flowers on it then?" I asked.
He stopped. "Are you saying just because it has flowers it can't be mine? I'm hurt." He said sarcastically.
"I'm sorry, but you know that's mine."
"I do, I'm sorry for messing with you Katie." He gave me my backpack and I turned around to head back to my table. "Hey Katie?"
I looked back to him again.
"Is there any way I can get your phone number?" He smiled as he pulled out his phone.
I entered my number then giving him phone to enter his phone in and that was it. I hadn't thought much of it.

The next few weeks Tommy was rrally nice to me and I had finally felt I had a good friend at this new school. He often joked with me and texted me every single day after school. We sat together every opportunity we could, we could have been callrd best friends. Tommy was even nice enough to wait for me at a certain spot to walk me to my bus every day after school. Tommy even managed to befriend everyone who sat at my table.I came to find that Tommy reminded me of myself from few years before. He wa insecure, but very social, and cracked as many jokes as he could even if no one found them funny. He was kind and caring but maybe a little too much and maybe I shouldn't have spent so much time with him.

I went to Math class sitting down at the table I had been assigned to on one of the first daysof school. I ended up sitting next to Johnathan Ester. Once you started talking to him he wasn't too scary. I actually learned a lot about him by sitting next to him.Johnathan Ester was a loner, he had come from a school 30 minutes away from the one we were currently attended. Johnathan liked to roast people and make memes non stop which I found to be surprising. Johnathan was also smarter than he appeared to be, or let others believe. Lastly, I learned Johnathan had a girlfriend.
Johnathan and I had to do a group project in which we did noy finish and decided to exchange numbers.
"This is your number?" I asked showing him the screen.
He gave me his number and just as I was about to type my number in the bell rang. "I'll just text you." I said with a smile and ran off to my next class.
Truth be told, I did not go home that night and text Johnathan. Another partner of ours told us he would do it all at home so I felt no use to text him. Instead, Tommy texted me.
Tommy: Katie?
Me: Yeah Tommy?
Tommy: I like you, and I want to give you some time to think but I would really like to ask you to be my girlfriend...
