Vaisey
"Hey, uh... Vaisey?"
I turned away from my group of friends when I heard Percy's timid voice from the side. It's been a month since he almost got killed being our keeper, and was perfectly healed. Although I noticed he'd still grip his ribs from time to time in pain.
When the other Slytherin's noticed it was Percy, they all sneered at him. I gave him an apologetic smile. Surprisingly, since being friends with Percy, Malfoy hasn't done anything extravagant in the violence department towards us. I was grateful because that's another thing off of my chest.
Percy helped me with the other. My father sent me an owl to confirm his safety in America. Apparently, a man introducing himself as Percy's father kidnapped mine out of the house, gathering all of our belongings. Father was sent on a boat and now lived in an expensive building, payed for by Percy's father.
I don't know how I'd ever make it up to Percy, but the boy just seemed content with my friendship. I would gladly give it to him if that's what he wanted, besides he wasn't bad company. The cat on his shoulder was snuggling up into his hair, purring on his shoulder.
My friends, who were usually better than this, surrounded Percy. His eyes warily bounced around the group. Percy's hand coming up to hold onto his cat cautiously. I don't blame him, Malfoy let the animal loose after his talk with Percy, but he was always on guard.
"Yeah, Perce?" I answered, giving him a wink.
His face flushed, and he glanced down nervously,"I, uh, was wondering if you'd, uh, like to go to Slughorn's Christmas party with me? As friends, of course. It's just—I'm allowed to bring someone, and since you'll be staying here for Christmas—"
I chuckled when he started rambling. I guess he got the hint in the infirmary. He was really good looking, but I didn't know him that much yet, so friends was good. I've been siting with him during meals and talking with him, getting to know him. Unfortunately, I haven't spent as much time as I would have liked because there's this thing called school. I also have other friends, but I'm off Quidditch until maybe the last game for precaution, Percy too.
I can't believe Christmas is already approaching. The next Hogsmeade trip I'll have to get my friends something. In the corner of my eye, I saw Percy's cousins rapidly approaching, and decided to hurry this along. His cousins still did not appreciate my presence around Percy, and they kind of scared me.
"Of course, Percy. I'll be there."
Percy lit up, his grin brightening the hallways. He quickly parted the sea of slytherins, running through his cousins. He grabbed each of their wrists, and dragged them with him, much to their own protests. A soft smile settled on my face as I watched him go.
"Dude, you're not actually going to go with him, are you?" One of them asked incredulously.
I shrugged,"Why not?"
The one on my left eyes narrowed,"He's a fag. He probably just wants to get into your pants."
I turned swiftly towards my friend, glaring,"Have you suddenly forgotten my sexuality? Are you calling me a fag too?"
He quickly back off,"No, man. I'm sorry—I didn't mean that."
"You better have not." I growled,"Anyone else into name calling?"
They all shook their heads, my friend on the right speaking up,"Uh, are you actually interested in him though?"
I pursed my lips indecisively,"He's hot, but I'm not sure right now."
One of the girls spoke up,"You're right, I wouldn't mind tapping into that."
"But you know there's still the problem with Malfoy, right?" Another girl replied before I could.
