"Time to close up. I know, so upsetting, but we have to," Brent said sarcastically. For the past 3 hours I have been hypnotized by my phone. I looked up Harry on facebook because I need some background check on him. It looks like he has a girlfriend, but he doesn't right? He wouldn't have just ask me out on a date if he has another girl friend. After I found Harry, I started finding some more of his and Brent's friends. They all seem super redneck, but I guess I'll have to meet them.

"What?" I asked Brent. Oh he's probably sooo pissed. He's been babbling on about something for the pass 20 minutes and I paid not on ounce of attention to him.

"Fine, you know what? If you just want to keep the shop open a few more hours, that's okay with me. Here's the keys, I'm out," he said while slowly walking towards the door. I know he's just acting like he's leaving to get my attention. He's like my mom when I was little, when I didn't want to leave my friends house my mom would act like she's leaving so that I would get scared and follow her outside. Well his plan worked, I like sprinted out of the shop and into his truck.

"I'm here! Don't leave me here alone Brent! You're so mean!" I told him while resting my head on the headrest. If he left me here alone, I would probably commit suicide. Today was hell. I was embarrassed, I fell in mud and ruined my shorts, I got worm pee and guts all over me, I stepped on a fishing hook, and my hair got stuck in a gun rack, yeah today sucked. I did become closer to Brent and got asked out on a date, but today was still worse than better.

"I would never actually leave you here Lilah. You'd probably burn the place down," He said while unbuckling his seat belt. "You know, you need to lock up before you leave," He said while getting out and quickly locking up. I looked at the clock on his dash and it was 5:30. He needs to hurry up so that I cant get ready for my date. What the hell do I even wear to this 'carnival'?

"Hurry up! I need to get ready!" I yelled out the window and saw Brent running back to the truck.

"Oh yeah, I forgot. You're a city girl, you take along time to get ready," He said trying to hide his smile.

"Don't call me that." I said rudely.

"Why? It's true," He said while shrugging his shoulders.

We sat in silence the rest of the way home. Not that we were mad at each other or anything. I was just exhausted. Brent on the other hand, looked ready to party.

"Um, Brent? What exactly do I wear and do during this 'date' with Harry?" I curiously asked. I honestly have no clue what I'm getting myself into.

"Lilah, it's a carnival. Haven't you ever been to one before?" He asked.

"Well I've been to Six Flags and Navy Pier multiple times, but those aren't like the ones here are they?" I asked. I feel stupid asking him this. It's not my fault I lived in the city all my life.

"It's like a way smaller Navy Pier. There's a few small rides, a few games, and then throughout town there's little stands and shops open. It's like a huge, local thing here. Just about everyone goes," Brent said while pulling up into our driveway.

"So what do I wear? What do I eat? How much money do I need?" I asked frantically.

"Lilah, calm down. Just wear normal clothes, no ones going to be over dressed. Remember its a carnival, you're not going to some fancy place or anything. Ask Harry what his favorite foods there are, that's how you'll decide what to eat. And, knowing Harry, he'll pay for you. Bring $10 just incase," He said and then got out of the truck. I ran behind him to catch up to his pace.

"Will you be there tonight?" I asked Brent. Oh god, I sure hope Brent will be there. What if something happens? I won't know what to do. Lilah, calm down. Calm down. You never worry so much why are you worrying now? Nothing will happen just worry about having fun.
