It had been two weeks, two weeks since Charles had been rejected by the boy he had hopelessly fallen head over heels for. A gorgeous boy with soft, poofy ginger hair with a blonde streak that went across the left side, His name was Samuel. He was small, with a soft pale face that was covered in dark freckles. The boy was the sweetest person Charles ever had the pleasure of meeting. The two had known each other for 2 years now, meeting in the freshmen year of college, they had quickly become good friends. Charles spent most of his time with the ginger hair boy, slowly growing an attachment to him, and even something more. After thinking about if what he was feeling was really true he finally got the courage to confuse to Sam.
Charles slowly walked down the dorm hall ways, tugging on the collar of his dark blue hoodie nervously. He was carrying a bundle of Amaryllis flowers, Sam's favorite. The tall boy stopped when he reached Samuel's dorm room, 1130. Charles took a deep breath, running his words in his head. He had been feeling anxious the whole way to Sam's room. He was never good at speaking to people, especially about his feelings. He always felt like he was shoving his problems onto others and felt like a burden. Charles quickly shook his head, now was not the time to worry himself more. But then again maybe this was a bad idea, what if Sam rejected him and didn't want to be friends anymore, what if he laughed at him for even asking him out. Charles mentally smacked himself, he was over reacting. Him and Sam were practically best friends, he had nothing to worry about, maybe Sam felt the same. Charles took one more deep breath before raising a first and colliding it with the door, repeating the process a few times. He waited for a moment, rocking back and forth on his feet slightly. He looked up as the door slowly opened, standing up straight and holding the flowers to his chest. A tall boy looked out a Charles. He had long blonde hair tied up in a pony tail. He was wearing a dark red hoodie with a fluffy collar and sleeves, long jeans and a golden crown necklace was hanging from his neck. "George..?" Charles murmured with a hint of disappointment in his tone, sinking on his heels, holding the flowers up to his face. "what do you want Charles?" the tall man questioned. Charles and George never seemed to get along, even since the first time they met. Maybe George didn't like Sam spending more time with Charles then him, maybe he felt threatened by him, Charles wasn't really sure. "I...just wanted to talk to Sam.." he murmured, his words now sticking to his throat, looking anywhere but at George. Any confidence he had before was completely gone. George always liked to degrade people, Sam would always pass it off as a joke but it never really made Charles feel good. He wasn't sure why Sam liked him so much, there obviously had to be something appealing about him but god if Charles knew. George huffed and walked back into the room. Charles shifted as he waited, this was all going wrong. He should just leave, forget this whole idea. Before Charles could act on his thoughts Sam walked up to the door way. Charles heart leaped as his eyes landed on the smaller boy, a soft blush setting on his cheeks. He was amazed that just the mere sight of the other made him lose his breath, his beautiful brown eyes, his soft lips. "Charles." Charles looked up, snapping out of his thoughts when the other spoke up. Sam raised a confused brow at Charles, "whats up?" he questioned, mostly confused why the other was showing up unannounced with flowers. Charles shifted slightly, clearing his throat "I uh needed to talk to you.." he slowly looked up to meet the others soft brown eyes. Sam gave the other a kind smiled "you know you can always talk to me Charles" his voice was soft as silk, no sign of worry in his voice. Charles wish he could pull something off like that. Charles eyes shifted behind Sam and saw George standing a bit behind him. He felt his stomach start to churn. He was already nervous and George was just making it worse. "Its kind of a, personal thing" he motioned towards George. Sam looked back at George and stepped out, closing the door, "I'm all yours" I wish that was true. Charles shook his head and looked back up at the other, "Sammy, we've known each other for a long while, and I really feel like I've grown close to you, and have a real connection to you" Sam gave the other sweet smile, touched by the others kind words, "I feel the same Charlie" Charles heart thumped heavily in his chest. So far so good. "And I really think we could be more, I-I want to be more" He gulped, holding out the flowers slightly. Sam blinked, staring at the flowers in surprise, "more..?" the other questioned, obviously wanting the other to be more specific. Charles took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a moment, "I want to be your boyfriend..." Sam frowned at the other, looking up at him, "Charles that's sweet but.." oh no, here it comes. "George and I are already dating..." Charles felt his heart drop, lowering his face into the flowers slightly, trying not to burst into tears in front of the other. He should of seen this coming, how could he be so dumb. Sam looked just as upset as Charles, clearly not wanting to cause the other pain, "Look I still care a lot about you, just more like a brother.." he gave the other a quick hug before letting go and opening the door, "I hope you understand Charlie..." he turned and walked back inside, closing the door behind him. Charles arms dropped to the side in defeat, tears pricking at his eyes and slowly rolling down his cheeks as he couldn't hold them back anymore. God he was such a fool, such a fool to think this was even a smart idea. He looked down at the flowers in his hand, gripping them tight. He set them down in front of the door and turned tail to walk back toward his room, wiping his teary eyes.
