Zanes pov

Travis seemed on edge the whole night. We talked and caught up on what each other had been doing over the years. It was going great until I got that tired feeling again. Like something was forcing my eyes shut. "I-I think I should head home." I said grabbing my bag. Travis pushed me back. "It's okay. I know your tired. Rest." He said with a smile. I couldn't argue because before I knew it I was sound asleep.

This time I wasn't cold. Travis was beside me petrified. This time it felt more like a movie. My mouth was talking but they weren't words that I was speaking. "Zane! What's taking so long?" He questioned. "I can't do it. I can't lose you again!" I cried. "You never lost me! You know that! Nothing will change. Just read from the book!" He shouted. The words in the book weren't close to English. Somehow in this strange dream I could read it. I screamed the words over and over. The beasts footsteps got lower. I continued to read. It was silent. Nothing. Just the winds blowing. It was relaxing until the noise starting up. A million times louder. The shadow of the monster spread over the forest. But I was quickly awoken by Travis. I was breathing heavy and he looked concerned. "Travis? Heh, you know it might sound weird, but I always have weird dreams with you. N-not like anything you'd think of. It's more like we're just lost. I know it's dum-" I didn't finish talking. Travis just looked so amazed. Like Irene herself stood before him. His face lit up with joy. He gathered himself and he went back to his calm usual facial expression. "Zane, that's ridiculous. Have some of my medicine it'll calm you down." He smiled shoving the potion in my face. I pushed it away and quickly declined the offer. "C'mon! I only want you to feel better bud!" He smiled holding the bottle and waving it side to side. "No, Travis I don't think you know what that thing is capable of! Who gave you that?" I asked. "T- forget it. Not important. Just a sip and it's all better I promise!" He pushed the potion closer to my chest. That dammed thing just kept bringing back memories of Ein. "I'm serious! Throw that thing away or else!" I yelped backing against the wall. "What? You'll hurt lil' ol' me?" He chuckled. I slapped the bottle away and pushed him back down. He looked at the mess then back up to me. "AAGH! Zane do you have ANY idea what YOU just did?!" He screamed as he quickly stood again. "I-I didnt- I- wasn't trying to- I." I couldn't finish my sentence. I've never seen him so upset. I tried to shuffle to the door. "Where on EARTH do you think you're running off to?!" He asked as his head jolted in my direction. I ran down the steps. His footsteps centimeters away from mine I reached the front door and kept running until I reached my house. I locked the door and ran to Garroths room. I must've woken him since he turned up in fear. "Whose there?!" He called out then looked down at me on the floor. "Oh Zane. Another bad dream? My little couch is by the window. Sleep tight." He smiled and turned back over. I wished this was all a damn dream. Was it even real? I can't tell anymore. All I knew is that I needed to sleep. I didn't want to dream any more. And that's exactly what happened. I didn't dream. Sleep is nice.
