Introduction

Kylie

The day started off like any other day. The sky was crystal blue and the sun was shining down, making it the perfect spring morning. I sat in bed staring out the window. I didn’t notice my brother Stefan entering my room nor did I hear the first couple of words that left his mouth. “Kylie are you even listening to me? I said good morning.” I turned around to face him. He was wearing a black tee shirt and some really dark pair of pants. His boots matched the color of his shirt perfectly. His dark purple hair was curly and his eyes were a bright red. He was holding a beautiful red apple with a few bites taken out of it.

“I’m sorry okay. I was just thinking about how lovely it is outside... anyways do you need something from me?” Stefan was sitting in one of my chairs, eating the beautiful red apple. He might be the oldest but he never acts that way. In fact our parents are always saying I act much older than him.

“Ellie told me to come and wake you up. She's being bossy as ever,” he said before he took another bite out of his apple.

“Well, someone has to be the adult around here while mother and father are away. You’re always in your cave sleeping and you never want to do anything.” With that being said, my brother is one of the most respected in Aden. He's also next in line for the throne. He's smart and fast and great with a sword. But what people fear most from my brother is his magic. He's the strongest in the world. No one and I mean no one can take him.

I jumped when he suddenly said, “What?! I'm an adult! I can do adult things!” He noticed that he scared me and quickly spoke “Oh sorry I didn’t mean to make you jump.” Before I could say anything, I saw from the corner of my eyes something big fly pass my window. I turned and a gust of wind blew the windows open and my cousin stepped in.

“What’s up cousins? Did I interrupt something?” My cousin Jaden is a month older than my siblings. He’s also Stefan personal bodyguard. He’s a special class (a vampire with special powers no other vampire possess). Jaden can transform into a dragon and back with no problem and he can also talk to other dragons in both forms. He was just born that way.

After calming myself down from both surprises, I said “No, all you did was give me another heart attack. Jeez you guys!”

“Sorry Kylie. I didn’t mean to scare you. I just came here to get Stefan.” He said “We need to talk.” Jaden maybe a super nice guy but he's also extremely overprotective of my big brother. If anyone tried to hurt Stefan, Jaden would kill them in a heartbeat. He swore to my parents to always protect my brother and he does a dam good job at it.

“Did I do something wrong?” Stefan asked as he continued to eat his apple. He now had both legs over one of the armrest on my chair.

“No, you’re not in any trouble. I wanted to go over something with you before it was signed.” From what I can tell, Jaden was wearing a white tee shirt with a black leather jacket. His pants were as dark as Stefan's and he also wore some black boots. His orange-red hair was messing and his eyes too were a bright red. Stefan sighed as he got up from the chair and looked over to me.

"Kylie, you should get ready and head downstairs for breakfast. If Ellie asks, tell her I'm with Jaden looking over some paperwork." After that, Jaden and Stefan lefted my room. I got up from my bed and stretched. I then headed to my dresser to grab some underwear and then into my closet to find something to wear. After I had laid out all my clothes, I went into the bathroom to take a nice hot shower.

20 minutes later

After taking my shower, I got dressed and headed downstairs to the kitchen where my older sister Ellie was cleaning. "Well, it took you long enough to get down here! What the heck, I sent Stef upstairs 30 minutes ago?! Where is he anyways? Lazy coward!!"

"Ellie relax, okay. I had to take a shower and get dress. As for Stefan, he left with Jaden to do some paperwork. It sounded kinda serious." I said as I grabbed an apple, the same color Stefan had moments ago and sat down. Ellie stopped cleaning and looked at me with concern.

"What kind of paperwork? Was Stef acting strange or anything? What about Jaden?" I took a bite of the apple before I answered. I wasn't sure why she was so worried but it was starting to make me feel uneasy.

"I'm not sure. Jaden didn't say what the paperwork was about only that he wanted Stef to look it over before it was signed. Why? Should we be concerned about something?" Before my big sister could say anything, we heard a loud boom sound. It sounded far away but also close like it had happened in town. We could hear the knights outside running around trying to figure out what just happened. Orders being yelled and people following them. My sister was trying her best to understand the situation. The boom sound had took her by surprise. I jumped out of my seat the same time my sister had snapped out of it. "Kylie, stay here!! I'm going to go see what the hell  is happening!" Just then we heard the second boom sound. Ellie ran out the kitchen leaving me standing there. I couldn't believe it, just a second ago, today was like any other day and now it sounded like Aden was in the middle of a war. What the hell is going on!!
