My body ached with agony. I stifled my whimpers by biting the inside of my cheek. My skin felt clammy from all the sweat, my body felt cold. I tilted my head down from the pillow I laid on. I looked down at my stomach. My abdomen wrapped in bandages which had stained red with my blood. With my small ripped shirt covering my chest and three inches lower. I shifted my head to face the person that sat next to me, Ellie. Her brown hair was all up in a bun yet her head laid on her hand. She took care of me. Someone brought me here, it certainly wasn't Ellie. She wasn't very physically strong.
There was a war going on. I forgot, it's supposed to happen at some point soon. The soldiers are on their way. "Nia?" Ellie's groggy voice croaked out. She sounded tired. I slowly looked around the house. It was Caesar's house. My tired and aching body was slowly drifting in and out of consciousness. "Hey Nia how do you feel?" I looked her way. "I don't mean this in a mean way but are you fucking kidding me? I feel like shit." I chuckled softly, trying not to move. She smiled slightly, while she checked the bandages. "So where is Luther and Andy?" I asked. "They're upstairs." I nodded to her. "Hey do you got any pain relievers?" She looked up from the bandages. "Yes of course. I'll get some." She immediately got up and went into another room to get the pills and hopefully water too. She came back in three minutes later. I smiled as she handed me me the pills and water. I took the two small white pills quickly drinking the water. "Thank you." She nodded, smiling kindly.
Suddenly the door flew open. For a second I was excited to see Caesar but I was disappointed. It was Malcolm. Malcolm hurried in as Ellie ran to the door to embrace him. Malcolm pulled away from Ellie but he was still holding onto her forearms firmly yet softly. "We need to leave. Come on Ellie we need to all leave." I got confused. What's with all this "we" and "all"? I didn't exactly like the way he invited me without even asking me. "Why?" I asked curiously. Malcolm turned to me letting go of Ellie. "Dreyfus called for back up before he died. There's an army on its way from the north right now. We all need to leave." I can't go. I can't leave him. "No." They both turned to me as Alex came walking in from the bedroom stopping only to look at his father before running into his arms, feeling safe once again.
"What do you mean no?" I sighed. "It means I'm not going with you." Ellie moved to the same chair she had sat in earlier and stood up straight in her chair. While Malcolm stood at the edge of the couch. "Caesar told me to take you with me." I shook my head. No, he wouldn't have done that. "No he didn't. I'm not leaving. I'm going to stay here and fight with Caesar." I pushed myself off the pillow slightly and sat up only a little bit against the couch. "I will go find him myself if I have to." I get up slowly in agonizing pain only to double back and nearly on to the floor. Ellie immediately reached out to grab me in time. Malcolm came to my aid and sighed as he helped me back to lean against the couch. "You'll get hurt out there. I'll go with you." He turned to Ellie and Alex. "I'll be back okay?" She nodded tiredly. "Just be careful." He nodded smiling at her as he helped me back onto my feet taking on my weight as he led us to the Jeep.
Malcolm helped me get in as I struggled. "Thank you." I mumbled out softly in pain. He nodded. "Your welcome." He shut the door and went around to the drivers seat. He turned on the car, switched gears, stepped on the peddle and we went on our way. It was dawn and I couldn't help But think about Caesar, the baby and Blue Eyes. The baby and Blue Eyes needed a caring mother which i knew would not be appropriate in the eyes of anyone if I tried such a thing. Caesar needed a female to help him lead and to fill a hole that was left by Cornelia. But something felt as is if something was missing. The sky was dark with a tiny of oranges, pinks and purples. The sky looked magical..but we all knew that nothing good was going to come from this battle.
"Do you love him?" I was pulled from my dark thoughts from the sound of Malcolm's voice and I looked at him confused but still willing to answer his question. "Yeah I do." He turned to me as we got closer to the building that Dreyfus had blown up. "Isn't it strange?" He asked trying to find the right word and not offend me. "Not really." I shifted uncomfortably closer to the window. "Right. And you do know that this is considered bestiality?" I huffed, crossing my arms. "Look Malcolm,.." I started calmly as I winced, feeling a dip in the road. "In this new world everything has changed. Apes can talk and there's a virus that's killing the human race. They're not the apes we used to know. It's different now..." I blushed slightly looking away. Malcolm eyed me for a second and considered my words. "I see. I just hope that this war doesn't kill the both of you." Malcolm wholeheartedly spoke as he continued to drive carefully. I nodded to him in thanks. "Thanks. Take care of Alex and Ellie for us." He finally pulls over near the tall building and smiles and me softly before getting out of the jeep.
Bodies covering the dirt, ape and human. It looked as if a hurricane had gone through the streets. Before I opened the door completely to get out Malcolm firmly grabbed onto my arm. Malcolm paused for a second and looked into my eyes with seriousness and concern. "Just remember that not everyone will be open minded to your relationship. Especially an army." I looked over his face, his expression seemed worried, I smiled softly. "We'll be okay." I slowly slide out of the car as he helped me get out. I closed the door and leaned against it for support. "Need help?" He asked nicely. I nodded brushing the hair out of my face. I took his arm and put some of my weight on him.
He didn't seem to mind so we just continued past the dead apes and humans. I felt as if I could have done something. But I didn't. I was naive to think that everything would be forever happy with Caesar. I was wrong. Now all of the apes and humans have paid the price for my foolish attempts at happiness. A loud roar erupted through the silence, an ape roar. I looked up with Malcolm for the source but I couldn't see that well. Soon all the other apes joined in this roar. They're calling the soldiers. This is really a war. "They're calling them out.." Malcolm mumbled. I nodded in agreement. "Come on let's go." I urged taking a step towards the building.
Quite a few apes were watching us as we passed through the open doors. Two male apes came barreling towards us but I started to sign to them. "Where is Caesar? I must see Caesar." Only one of them started signing back making a grunt. "No. Humans must go with others.." He signed coming to grab me but stopped when a long and orange arm stopped him. I turned to the owner of the arm that gripped the apes shoulder. Happy and relieved to see Maurice. "This is Caesar's mate." Maurice spoke slowly to the apes. Malcolm shifted uncomfortably next to me. The ape in charge of the two only growled at me in distaste as they walked away. I turned to Maurice smiling, "Thank you." He nodded doing a small cooing sound in his throat. "Are you well?" He asked. I chuckled. "I will be alright. I just need rest. Ellie fixed me up good." Maurice smiled softly. "She is a good female." I nodded. I turned my head towards Malcolm. "Could you go look for Caesar? I'm getting lightheaded."
He nodded as he handed me off to Maurice. Malcolm then turned and started walking in a different direction. Maurice gave me his hand as he led me to a room which Koba had led the apes through and where Ash's life was taken. Yet no one had moved his body yet. I averted my eyes from Ash's body as Maurice led me to a white marble bench. It was hard watching a character die such a brutal death but to actually be in the same room was harder. I sat down tiredly not wanting to move. The pills really do work.

》》 PLEASE READ《《
Hello everyone! I hope you all like this chapter.
I know most of you are wondering why I'm doing a prequel for this story.
I just thought since maybe not all of you read the books. I was thinking of maybe adding more to the events that happened after Dawn and before War.
I will eventually write the movie but not now.
After the prequel.
Be patient please!❤
