When Jesse and Beca got together, their acapella group friends—especially chloe— couldn't be more excited for them, they threw a CRAZY pool party at the Treblemakers' house and invited basically all acapella peeps at Barden. It was unforgettable. Really.
They've been dating for 8 months now and you guessed it, the moviecation is still on track. Beca's starting not to hate movies as much as she used to but yeah she pretty much dozed off in every movie, especially romcom.
So when Jesse told Beca that today's movication is going to be 'When Harry Met Sally', Beca just rolled her eyes and groaned.
"I really have to sit through 90 minutes of romcom? I'm not gonna do it", Beca stated grumpily crossing her arms over her chest while glaring at Jesse.
Being the sweet boy that Jesse is, he pulled her by the hands and guide her hands to his sides, wrapping his own hands around her petite figure, replying ever so softly, whispering to Beca's ears, "Bec, you really don't have to watch the movie at all. I just want you by my side for that whole 90 minutes, I just miss you. We can order in Taco Bell if you want to, anything you want baby", Beca felt a shiver through her spine at that. How could a person be so sweet? Beca thought.
"Okay but you don't get to wake me up if I sleep through it okay?" , Beca finally relented and agreed to watch the damn movie. "Oh and I want Taco Bell, thanks!"
Jesse chuckled at Beca's remark and ordered Taco Bell while Beca made some popcorn for them. Jesse stood beside her, playing with her hair, untangling her locks while he's on the phone with the Taco Bell guy and Beca's used to his habit of playing with her hair. It's weird but sweet in some kind of way
Beca stayed awake and watched the movie for an hour because as long as she has food in her hands she'll not fall asleep — Jesse knew that so he ordered a bunch of her favourites from Taco Bell
"Oh Swanson, you know just the way to a woman's heart", Beca teased when she saw how much food he bought for her. "But seriously though, this is a lot of food, we'll need to burn them calories more often babe", Beca added, biting her lip, trying to hide her smile
"Oh yeah Bec, we will", Jesse smirked
Beca was trying not to doze off on Jesse's shoulder but the way Jesse just absent mindedly rub slow circles on her upper arm doesn't help much, in fact it was lulling her to sleep. Jesse was leaning his head to her's and whispered those three little words into her ear the same time Harry told Sally. Beca was wide awake instantly and stared at Jesse with a blank expression
"What did you just say?", Beca whispered
"I love you Beca, I always have. You don't have to say it back, I just want you to know that", Jesse smiled sweetly and damn it Beca's a sucker for his smile
"Umm you do? Okay wow this is...big", Beca's never been good in this kind of situation, in a matter of fact, she's never been in this situation. Nobody ever said that to her, well except for her the bellas and her family. Beca's heart was pounding so hard, she's afraid Jesse could hear it
Jesse chuckled and pulled her against his chest, "It is? Nah it's just my stupid heart talking, don't worry about it", kissing the crown of her head. He's trying to play it off, make her feel less guilty for not saying it back but a tiny piece of his heart is hurt that she didn't.
They watched the rest of the movie — well Beca didn't — in awkward silence, Beca's head on Jesse's lap. Beca was thinking back to the moment when he said those three little words and to the way her heart leaped with joy when he said it.
She looked up at him, he was playing with her hair, entangling his fingers in her tousled locks. Beca thought of how relaxing and normal this is, how she wants it to be this way, in his arms, for the rest of her life. The thought scared her to death.

She was so lost in her train of thought, when Jesse looked down at her, raised his right eyebrow and smiled at her, dimples showing in either side of his cheek and leaned down to kiss her.
Yeah, I'm totally in love with my boyfriend
They really are perfect for each other.
