Previously: The four teenagers miraculously escape the sudden Apocalypse and take shelter in an underground safe house. After they seem safe, a loud, unfamiliar sound comes from above....
The noise did not go unnoticed by anyone. Adam slowly got up from his spot as the sound occurred again, but this time it came closer. "Adam, what are you doing?" Tyler hissed. Adam put a finger to his lips to silence him. He went over to the corner where they placed their bags and opened up his, pulling out something small and black. A gun.
The noised happened again, closer and louder than ever. It sounded like a creaking floorboard mixed with the growl of a pitbull. Whatever it was, it was right on top of them. Unanticipatedly, something large crashed down on the hatch, causing it to dent inwardly. Elise almost screamed, but Tyler put a hand over her mouth. Naomi's eyes were on Adam. The gun he took out of the bag was being held tightly in his grasp. The creature outside slammed something against the hatch once more, and the metal plate came crashing down.
This time, Elise couldn't help screaming. Naomi cried out too. The thing was utterly horrible. A rotting human figure with long, slick tentacle-like extensions protruding from its back. It was like a huge set of spider legs placed on the back of a decaying skeleton. It screeched again and advanced into the safe house by crawling on his spider legs. "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING?!" Tyler screamed as it came toward him. It was surprisingly fast. Tyler shielded his sister, Elise, and dodged its attack. In one swift motion, Adam stood up and aimed the gun at the monstrous creature. It turned towards him, and shrieked. One long tentacle shot forward at him. It stopped right in front of him as Adam pulled the trigger. The demon lay motionless on the floor. "What....was...that...?" Tyler said again. Adam took a deep breath, put away the gun, and said, "I don't know. But it's not safe here anymore. We have to get going." Elise spoke up and said, "Where?" "That's something we'll have to figure out on the way there." He said.
