The Storm

Tancred Torsson was tired of being mad. He sat on his bed, or what was left of it. His mattress was on the opposite side of his room with a cracked backboard. He was tired, but he couldn't help it. Little waves of anger kept surging up inside of him but he decided he was okay, at least right now. So he went downstairs to have dinner with his family. When he sat down his mom handed him a big slice of shepherds pie on a paper plate. She had given up on china currently.
" So you've cooled down have you? About time." Tancred's father said.
"Not completely dad." He growled.
"Don't be so disrespectful Tancred" His dad roared.
"You need to learn to control it." Tancred's thankfully empty glass fell over.
"You're not much better." He mumbled
"What was that?" His father was standing now, Tancred stood and planted his hands on the table.
"Dad I have this storm thing a lot worse than you, you said so yourself!"
" Tancred control your self you know how bad your mother's headaches can get when you cause them." Tancred deflated. He knew it was true, if he hadn't been born with this weird talent his mom would not be in pain now. "Mom," Tancred almost whispered the words. "Sorry about the headaches."Tancred hid his face with his long bangs.
"Oh it's okay honey you don't mean to." His mom was always so gentle.
"If he could control himself you wouldn't have headaches in the first place."Tancred's dad argued.
"I'm going back to school on Monday. You can't stop me, we are unbalanced I have to get back."Tancred insisted. He decided to stop the whole control argument with his father, for now at least.
"Very well I have some clothes that I saved for you, a weeks worth." His mom ran off to get the clothes. Tancred ran upstairs and Mr. Torsson was left alone in the kitchen. What was he going to do with his family and his son?
"The temperament of that child." Mr. Torsson grumbled before picking up his newspaper and waiting for the real storm to come as he knew it would.
