Out of all days of working, today seemed to be my lucky one. It was hot, everyone was having a good time and the streets were crowded. Sadly, I couldn't join because I was stuck in a car. Take a guess at what my job is.
"I heard theres a big concert going on tonight at the parkway." I said, talking the customers.
"Yeahhh, it's the fourth of July so, its free." The white boy said.
"Yeahhhh, its about to be litty!" His girlfriend replied. I laughed.
"Who's all gonna be there?" I asked.
"Just some old groups and a few pop artists we never heard of." The girl answered.
"Cool, cool." I said.
If you haven't guessed by now, I'm an uber driver. Being an Uber driver wasn't the job I wanted, but it was definitely needed. Things got weird with Olive Garden after they accused me of stealing from the register. I was a waitress of course but somehow I steal got fired. Shit don't add up. I know.
But this job was cool sometimes cause it brought in a lot of money. It kept me happy and I never filed one complaint.
But the only thing I hated was when it was quiet during the ride. Which is what it was now.
"Where do you want me to stop at because the destinat-" I looked in the mirror seeing him fingering the girl in the back seat.
"WHAT THE F-"

"Yooooo, I wish I could come but it's my personal day. Im tryna chill with the homie."
"Who?"
"Bro, dont act like you dont know."
"Ohhh, shawty that dress like she tryna be in the 90s?"
"Nigga, she got a name." I rolled my eyes.
"You heard what I said." Eric said.
"Nah, YOU heard what I said" I laughed.
"Yeah, Yeah. Ill catch you later playboy." Eric said. I hung up and looked at the picture of me and Xena on my lock screen and smiled.
"Good times man. Good times." I turned on music and started to clean up.
Keith
"Ma'am I told you its 3.25 for a transfer pass. Not 2.25." I huffed.
"Well it WAS!" She rolled her eyes putting the extra dollar in walking away.
"If this damn job aint the death of me." I mumbled.
At 42nd and girard, Keith noticed his old neighborhood. Smiling to himself, he realized all the trouble he witnessed on every corner in the summer. The summer he spent with her. All the late nights and conversations about everything. Shaking the thought he almost grazed the car in front of him on the red light.
"Watch where you're going!" The lady honked the horn.
"Im sorry miss!" I yelled through the window. She put up her middle finger and drove off on a green light.
I drove further up to the next stop. A few girls got on and all of them had googly eyes. Used to it, I kept my eyes on the street waiting for them to swipe their passes and keep it pushing to their seats of their choice.
"Girl he fine as hell." One of them said.
"Bet you wont get his number." The other one challenged.
