Chapter 2 (Falling into reality)

It's been a weak. A weak without Alex being in this world but more present then ever in my mind. I fell into a depression that seemed endless.Matt gave me the week off.This week the only thing I did was stay in bed, virtually without eating in all these days, I did not feel the need to feed my overwhelmed body.

I wondered to myself if this pain would overcome to an end soon. I had cried so much at the hospital that at Alex's wake not even a tear came out my eye something that felt worse that a knife inside tearing me apart.

I hear that someone touched the front door and as I tried to ignore it they they kept on knocking even harder. Gosh! I'm coming I screamed. I got out of bed and put on a robe over my pajamas as I opened my room door and walked through the hall to the front door.

To my surprise the person outside was Matt.I felt ashamed that he saw the mess that I was in. "What are you doing here Mr. Hunt?" Aren't you supposed to be at work. "First of all you are more important than work". "And second of all call me Matt." He responded as I let him in my house.

"You look gaunt and pale Addison" have you been eating? I gave him an intense look cutting off the distressed look in his face and replied that it was not worth eating.

Come on Addy...Don't! Call me like that I said before letting him finish the sentence.

Alex was the only person that called me Addy.

He apologized and then he added " let's make a deal you go take a shower and I'll take you out for supper. "I don't want to go out. I retorted " Ok then I'll order some pizza but I'm not leaving this house until you eat something.

"Why? " explain me because , I don't know why you do all this Matt. "Ugh..why don't you not understand that I like you and I care about you so much that hurts to see you like this, if I had a magic wand trust me nothing would be this way but unfortunately I don't.

I finally agreed to take a shower and eat something.

While I was in the shower I heard Matt ordering the pizza, he was saying bring me a pepperoni pizza you know what make that a pepperoni and a cheese pizza please.

I came out the shower and got dressed with a black cotton pants I usually wear to sleep

an old t-shirt that Alex had gave me for my birthday that read "forever soulmate" as I brushed my hair I heard the delivery man as Matt opened the door. I made a bon in my hair, plash some body spray in me, took a pair of socks out of my drawer put them on quickly and went out.

"Feel any better ? Asked Matt as soon as he saw me. I did not want to admit it but I did feel better and the smell of pizza opened my appetite. "Yes" I responded shortly.

"Hmmm...I ordered pepperoni and cheese pizza because I didn't know which you'd prefer." -I made a small smile expression on my face and said pepperoni.

"Then pepperoni it is "he said while bring the pizza tho the living room.

We ate and got the chance to talk and for a while I even forgot about everything but this moment couldn't last forever. When we finished our pizza Matt grabbed my hand, his eyes looked more grayish then blue, "please Addison if you need someone or anything don't doubt on calling me at any hour." A flush of relief travel trough my body because I felt I had someone, someone near me. And it's not that I was replacing Alex.

"I better get going now you know how traffic is in this city. "He approached me in a way that seemed like he was going to hug me and kiss me in the cheek but he got me by surprised and kissed me and a gulps of adrenaline hit me and I corresponded to that kiss.

I sat in my living room and watch him leave.
