Sugar, Spice & Everything Nice

Prologue

           

I woke up to pain in my right shoulder and something heavy weighing on my shoulder and lap. I looked around my surrounding and saw I was in the living room of our house. The heavy weight on my shoulder and lap were the heads of my twin brothers, Zach and Zion. We had fallen asleep while watching Big Hero 6.  I looked at my phone and saw it was 12a.m. Sighing, I removed the two heads from my lap and my shoulder and placed them in a pillow. I carried them one by one to their room and tucked them in bed giving them kisses on their foreheads.

I love my two brothers, even though they are the biggest pranksters ever. My brothers and aunt are the only family I have left. Closing the door, I went downstairs to turn off the TV. and get my phone. I noticed that the kitchen light was on.

Aunt Cassie must be back, I thought.

As I went in the kitchen I saw a petit figured lady with caramel blond hair and green eyes, just like mom. It was my Aunt Cassie, the lady who took me and my brothers in after the incident. She was unmarried and worked as a surgeon in the local hospital. She loved us like she was our actual mother.

"Hey Ella, why are you awake at this hour of the night? Isn't it the first day of school tomorrow?" asked my aunt.

School, uuuugggggghhhhhh, I thought, before replying. "I was watching a movie with the twins. While watching the movie I fell asleep, so did the twins. It was a long day."

"Oh," said my Aunt Cass, "better get some sleep before school starts, kiddo."

"Yeah," I replied.

Before leaving the kitchen, I turned around and said," Aunt Cass?"

"Yeah?"

"Love you and thanks for everything you do for us. Without you I dunno how we would have survived," I said being grateful for all the help and love she had given us.

"You don't have to say that El. I would have done anything for you guys. You're just like my own kids and I love you guys. Now go to bed and get some rest. I will drop you off to school tomorrow along with the twins, K? Don't argue. Now go. Love you, "said Aunt Cass.

Afterwards, I went upstairs into my room, changed, and got in bed. Tomorrow is going to be along day. With that thought in my head I drifted off to sleep.
