Part 1: Famous and Fortunate
PROLOGUE:
"So tell us Arielle, how does your brother affect your daily life?" The interviewer asked me, I waited a second before I finally came up with an answer. I looked straight at the camera and smiled.
"Well for starters, I always have to dress sort of nice, because of all the pictures taken all the time. I mean, if I were to go out to the mailbox in my pajamas, tomorrow it would be all over the internet and magazines," I laugh steadily, careful not to give away to much.
"I mean c'mon, you have to have some popularity at school or something, right?" The man asks, digging deeper.
"Well, I guess so. I have a good group of friends at school who love me for me and not who my brother is," I say.
"I saw you brought one of your friends to your interview today, would you like to introduce us to her and let us ask her a few questions?" He says, getting excited.
"Uh, I guess. Hold on a second, let me go get her," I say, standing up from the cushy chair. I walk backstage and I hear the interviewer guy say to the show will be back after these commercials.
I walk over to the food table where I left her and of course see her chowing down on a chocolate doughnut.
"Jen, now you know why I don't bring you to these sort of things," I laugh at her as she tries to shove the doughnut in her mouth as she sees me come up.
"Why did you say I would go out there Ellie? I just wanna sit here and eat while I can." Jennifer whines, setting down her plate of food.
Jennifer's mom insists she does a major modeling job once a month because she needs the money for college, and, between you and me, Jen really wants an expensive car.
"Trust me, you just saved me from being bombarded by questions about Caleb. Arielle, what has CALEB been up to. Oh, and Arielle what movie is CALEB going to be in next? I'm so sick of it. So please do it, just for me!" I give her the puppy eyes and frown at her.
"Oh fine, but you owe me! Next time my mom says I have to diet for a photo shoot, promise you will bring me along so I can eat more, I am literally craving sugar, I haven't eaten real sugar in weeks." She sighs, shoving a handful of jelly beans in her mouth before heading over to the makeup department for a little blush and mascara. I just laugh and follow her.
While Jen sits patiently as the lady does her makeup and spiffs up her hair, I go on my phone and play Parking Mania. I keep failing on the same level. As soon as I am about to pass level 101, Jen comes over to me and a stage person tells me we go on in 2 minutes.
