{Kaya's POV}
"You're lucky I don't just kill you now," I laugh as I shove my kid-sister, Emily.
I have a normal life. I guess.. My best friends are Blake and Alice, who happen to be coming over to finish homework and have a little sleepover. I should tell you about the "populars". Well, I'll start with Marina. To be honest, I don't know how she keeps a grade to stay in cheerleading. She once asked me how to spell "orange" in chemistry. Sophie Cortella. Lead cheerleader, and captain of the yearbook comity. She doesn't have much of a personality, but supposedly she got implants last fall. And finally, Tessa Michaels. She is a mega bitch. If you dare lay a finger on her, you're considered deleted out of highschool. Anyway, I should tell you, that highschool is a blast, have fun kids! But I'm going to be real. Highschool is such a pain. You don't have the day to go shopping for 5 hours, have fun locked in your room all night finishing yesterday's essay. And that's what my friends and I are exactly going to do.
The doorbell rings, followed by a soft knock. I rush over to the door, sliding in my yellow, fluffy socks. When I open the door, all I see is my friends (that are surprisingly short). I wave hello and invite them in. They set down their backpacks next to the door and briskly walk to my room. I shut the door behind us and we all go over to my bed to sit down.
"I can get us all some snacks," I say, walking out the door. I walk down to the kitchen and see my mom standing over the stove, phone in hand. She looks worried and anxious and she's talking very fast.
"No there must be some mistake," She says as I walk towards her.
"No not my daughter!" Mom screams as she sets down the phone with a loud clash. She looks over at me and gives me a quick smile, then returns to her work.
"Um can we have a snack?" I ask her. She looks back at me and hands me a bowl of popcorn and a few apple slices. She doesn't say a word as she walks back to her work.
I run up to my room and slam the door behind me.
"Aye! What's wrong Kaya!?" Shouts Blake. I'm breathing so hard that it hurts.
"My mom," I say in between breaths.
Suddenly, the door to my room swings open. And of course, it's my mom.
"Kaya, how much did you hear?"
