I blinked, looking up at the clock, surprised that time had passed so quickly. The shrillness of the bell left my ears ringing, and I smoothly placed the playing that was currently serving as a bookmark in place, and closed my book, sliding it into my bag. I took my time to collect my books, and stood up, wincing as my back creaked in protest. I shuffled out of the stuffy classroom slowly not wanting to be caught in the rush of people hurrying to their cars.

I avoided being squished by others the best I could, shrinking into myself, further hunching my shoulders. I made it to the doors that led to the student parking lot after what seemed like ages, I stepped out into the frigid air, burrowing into my too large knitted turtleneck as the air bit at my face. I came to my car, a silver Nissan cube, nearly smashing my head on the way in.

I started my car, cranking up the heat before blowing into my hands rubbing them together, trying to warm them up some as I was waiting for the heat to fire up. As per-usual, I dissociated nearly the entire drive home, and didn't really come to until there was a knock at my door.

I didn't get up at first, because why the hell would anyone be here to see me, unless it was some kind of door to door salesman. As the knocking persisted, I heaved myself off my couch and out of my comfortable position with a grunt. The pounding just seemed to get louder and more rapid, but it didn't make me go any faster. I reached the door and undid the deadbolt before swinging open the door and staring blankly at the person standing there.

"Yes?" I asked, completely uninterested. The girl at the door smiled apologetically at me.

       "You're Ivy right?" I nodded.

"Okay, so this is going to sound really weird, but I need you to trust me." she paused, probably to be dramatic or some shit., "You're in danger."

It's kinda short, but once things get going, they'll probably be longer. And better. Maybe. I hope. No Promises.
