It's been two weeks since I got to know Leo more. We've talked a little on Facebook, but for the most part, I haven't seen him. (After I got off of the bus I was greeted with a friend request from him.) Yes, we say each other in gym but Leo kept his promise and I hadn't gotten hurt. So, we haven't had any weird, but cute moments where I get hurt and he has to help me. As depressing as that was, I was glad that I hadn't gotten hurt. I was getting kinda tired of it.

Today is Thursday and I've already gone through all of my classes, except for gym. I had three tests today. One in History, one in Algebra II, and one in English.  All three of them sucked. So, I was glad when we went outside for gym and we could do whatever we wanted.

We were going outside because today was the first warm day we've had in awhile. It's Spring, but it still hasn't warmed up. Mr. Stevens wanted to enjoy the nice weather. (Finally, he does something I like.)

Outside, we have a track. Behind it, we have a baseball field, but we're not allowed to use it. In fact, I don't know if anyone uses it. I've never seen anyone out there.

Maybe it's haunted. I shook my head and mentally laughed at my stupid joke.

Before you get to the track and right as you walk out the door, there's a really steep hill. On top of that hill, there is a tree. The tree still didn't have any leaves. I think it's because even though it's Spring like I said, it still hasn't warmed up. Underneath this tree, is where I spend the periods when we go outside.

My friends aren't here today, so I sat underneath it by myself.

There was a gentle breeze that accompanied the warm sunlight and it felt amazing. The sky was cloudless and the weather was my definition of perfect. It made me smile so big that if someone saw me, they would probably say I looked like the Grinch. (But, you know, not green, or hairy.) It didn't even bother me that I was alone.

I was about to lay down when I heard a group of guys walk outside. "Hey, Leo! Are you gonna play football with us today?"

"No, I hurt my knee in practice yesterday and Coach told me not to run."

"Aw, man. Okay, let's go play guys."

I looked over to see the guys run down the hill, half of them falling because they went too fast and the hill was too steep. I went to look back to Leo and was surprised to see that he was heading straight towards me.

When he reached me, he leaned against the tree, facing me, with his hands in his pockets. The things he does to me. It's like he knows he looks good and that I like him. Oh, wait, he probably does know. It's obvious. In fact, it's so obvious that if he doesn't know, he's really stupid.

Can I be honest here? When it comes to these things, guys are so stupid.

(A/N- No offense if any guys are reading this.)

You can give them so many clues and they still won't notice. Unless, of course, they're ignoring it on purpose.

"Looks like there's nothing to hurt you today, Chloe." I laughed and considered it for a second.

"Well, I could always trip and fall down the hill."

"No, I would catch you before you could fall."

I didn't know how to respond to this, so I just moved on to a topic that I deemed safe. "So, did you actually hurt your knee in practice?"

"Does that mean you were listening?"

I felt my cheeks heat up immediately. "Uh, no. You guys are just really loud."

"Oh, okay." His voice was filled with sarcasm and when he saw my face he laughed.

Cue another subject change.

"Are you going to answer my question or not?" Still laughing, he nodded.

"No, I didn't actually hurt my knee. I just didn't feel like playing."

"Why didn't you just say that?"

"Because then they would've asked why. Then, I would've had to tell them that I would rather talk to you than play football with those knuckleheads."

I almost gasped but managed to keep myself from making any embarrassing noises and kept a normal look on my face.

"Really?"

He didn't answer. Instead, he sat down next to me, close enough that our shoulders touched.

The breeze randomly picked up and blew his hair into his face. He quickly ran his hand through it, moving it back into place. I watched him, not really concerned about my own hair in my face.

Before I had the chance to move it myself, Leo reached over and gently put it behind my ear. The blush that just left came right back.

"T-thanks."

I mentally cursed at myself for stuttering and he chuckled. "You're cute when you blush."

I looked away trying to hide my face that was getting more red by the second. He gently grabbed my chin and turned my head to look at him again. "Don't hide it. I just said it was cute," he said while laughing the entire time.

"Y-yeah, but..."

Leo interrupted me by placing his hand on my head and ruffling my hair. He does that a lot, but it's cute and I like it, so it's fine by me.

"Leo! Can I get your help over here?"

"Sure, Mr. Stevens. I'll be back."

I nodded glad that I had a chance to calm down.

Unfortunately, he didn't finish helping until the period was over. I was just glad that I hadn't fallen down the hill like I said I could.

If only I knew what was coming.
