Attack of the Nightmare

Chapter 1

It was a warm summer's day in Equestria. And everything was going fine. Buttercup was walking through the farmers market with her younger brother Apple Shudder. "Ok, so the first thing on the list are tomatoes." Buttercup said as she looked around the farmer's market for the stand that was selling the tomatoes. "Uhhh Gg." Apple Shudder moaned as he flew along side his sister. "Do we really have to do this at this hour." Buttercup looked up at her younger brother with a face saying that she was not happy with her brothers complaining. "We have to do this because mom is busy with the animals and dad is at the farm helping cousin Apple Jack." Buttercup trotted over to a stand to go and get the tomatoes. "So now that we have to tomatoes, it's time to get lettuce."
"I'll go get it. It looks like there's a line for the stand so you go ahead and go get everything else on the list and I will catch up with you when I'm done."
"Ok." Buttercup said as she watched her brother fly over the the lettuce stand to get in line.
"Ok, so what's next on the list." Buttercup looked over the list once more before making her way through the rest of the farmers market to get everything else needed for the big feast.

Later that evening Pegasus were flying around, hanging up fairy lights all around Town Hall. Tonight Prince Solstice and Princess Crystal Nights were coming to Ponyville for the raising of the sun. Security was tight cause last time this happened Princess Celestia was trapped by Nightmare Moon and nopony wanted that to happen again.
"How are we going to get in there. There are guards everywhere."
"Well we have to do something. If we don't we are so done."
"How about we use a changing spell, we can change into a normal pony so that we can get close enough to the royals to do some real damage."
"Sounds good enough for me, lets go."
The two strange ponies get deeper into the everfree forest so that nopony sees their transformation.
"Ok this seems good." Out of the Everfree Forest walked two stallions. One is a unicorn with a dark purple coat with a blue mane that goes from a royal blue to a lighter shade.
The other one is a pegasus also has a dark coat, but it's mostly blue. His mane is a darkish color with a hint of purple in it.
The two stallions walk out of the forest. "All right, so know that we look like... this. We need to get into town. Come on." The two walked to town. "Now this is a party" The pegasus said flying around town. "Will you get down here you stupid shadow." The Unicorn said to the pegasus as he pulled him down from his tail using his magic. "Owwww. That hurt you know. You're supposed to be nice around other ponies. You have to remember this younger prince." The pegasus said as he flew down to the ground. "I know this, and DON'T call me a prince around other ponies. No one is to know." The unicorn said as he started to walk around the courtyard looking for the perfect spot to carry out his mission.
"HELLO!" A loud sound filled the air in the courtyard. The unicorn jumped and turned around almost blasting the mare into crystals. His sudden outburst of magic made everyone stop what they were doing and look at him.
"Oh, um, sorry about that. I am very jumpy and... I... didn't mean too." He said with a little anger in his voice. "Oh, it's ok. Well I haven't seen you around. Are you new here? Well of course you have to be new here, cause if you weren't then I would know your name and I don't so that has to mean that you are new here. Well either way, what's your name?" The purple unicorn looked straight at the unicorn, her face was to close for comfort. "Um, first off you're way too close for comfort and second my name is none of your business." He said with stern look on his face. "His name is Crystal." Shadow said as he came up behind Crystal. "SHADOW!" Crystal said angrily at the pegasus. Looking like he was about to send the poor soul to the Netherworld. "Alright, alright I'm sorry." Shadow backed off of Crystal showing that he was afraid of him. "Well anyway," the unicorn said with a concerned smile on her face, "I'm Party Planner. Naturally I am the main party planner of this pony-tastic party." Party said with more pep in her step. "Well as heard from my, um, friend, my name's Shadow, Shadow Hunter." The pegasus said with a smile on his face. His kind gesture made the purple unicorn's sadness from Crystal fade away.

While Shadow is talking with Party, Crystal was walking around still looking for the perfect spot. "Uhg, how can it be this hard for somepony like me to find a simple spot." Crystal said angrily. As he was walking around he bumped into another pony. "Uh, excuse me, I'm sorry I didn't see you there." A mare voice said. Crystal looked up and saw an earth pony with a light gold coat and a pink and gold mane up in a high ponytail. "Yeah well watch where you're going stupid pony." Crystal said, getting up and started to walk away. "Hey you could at least say sorry. It's the polite thing to do." She said getting up as well. "Well my name is Buttercup. What's yours?" She said while starting to walk towards him. "Why are you following me? I'm not going to tell you my name or anything else got that." Crystal said snarling that the lovely mare making her feel a little upset. "Wait, did you say that your name was Buttercup, daughter of the Element of Kindness?." Crystal asked with a sinister yet endearing smile. "Well yes this is true but, I really don't know." Buttercup looked down at the ground, being very shy as her mother when it comes to guys. 'Well this should be easy enough to trick her' Crystal thought to himself. "Well sorry about how I was acting to you earlier. I was having a rough time. My name's Crystal." Crystal said with a sincere look on his face. Buttercup looked up at him and smiled. They walked talked together until everypony was asked to come to the centre for the arrival of the two royals.

"Welcome everypony to the Summer Sun Celebration!" The crowd cheers and stomps their hooves. "And now what you have all been waiting for... The Royals! It is my pleasure to welcome Princess Celestia and her son Prince Solstice!" As the mayor said this Prince Solstice came sunning out of where the royals were supposed to arrive from. "Their... their are some monsters." After that he collapsed. 'Well do you think that's our que young Prince?' 'Most certainly Shadow.'

"Well I am so sorry to make this situation more tense than it already is, but I really don't care about what you think." After that Crystal and Shadow casted the reversal spell that revealed their true form. Crystal transformed into Bluemoon, Prince of Nightmares. While Shadow turned into a night guard.

"Well then shall we begin the take over Shadow."
"We shall younge prince."
