"Hello. My name is Evangeline Burnston, but my friends call me Eve. I'm about to tell you a story about my life and it's not your average fairy tale either. There will be no princes to come save the day or dragons to be slain. It is a simple story about the day where my life changed forever and i can't really say for good or bad. I guess you will have to read the story to find out."
It all started on the day of my 21st birthday. My Dad was going to throw me a huge party to celebrate the new stage of my life. He called all my closest friends to invite them to my big day. I was so excited to finally reach the age where I would be treated like an adult. Some say that wasn't the only reason why I was so excited about being 21, if you know what I mean, but I didn't anticipate the kind of trials that stood in my way.
I have lived the whole 21 years of my life without a mother. I know what you're thinking. Awe that's so sad or poor girl, didn't even get to know her mother. But that's not exactly how I see things. My Dad never told me how my mother died, he would always brush me off when I tried asking him. I thought it was really strange so I went looking for answers. Also, no I did not go off on some extrodinary adventure to find the secrets to my mom's death. I just snuck into my dad's room and searched through his stuff. Exciting right!
Back on topic. So when I was searching through his stuff, I came across a black box. Can't you just smell the foreboding events yet to come. I quickly took the box and went back to my room so I could open it privately. I mean how private can you get in a house with just you and your Dad. Joking aside, when I opened the box, I found tons of pictures of a very beautiful young woman. She looked about in her late 20s, with long black hair that reached to her lower back. I wonder what kind of mosturizar she uses because she skin is flawless! Her skin was very pale, she looked like she didn't receive much sun in her life.
Never in my life have I seen eyes like the woman in the picture. Her eyes were the color of the sea, a shiver ran down my spine, it felt like the woman was staring into my very being. She had delicate features and she was wearing pretty blue dress that showed off her figure. Which was not fair! How does some woman in a picture that my dad has look so perfect!? Ugh, but I still haven't found any answers; so I looked at the back of the photo. There was handwriting at the top right of the picture. The writing looked like my dad's, I can identify his handwriting anywhere! I'm trying to say this nicely, his handwriting is terrible, you can barely read anything he writes. Which works for me because back when I was in school, whenever he wrote a note to my teacher they couldn't read it; so I could make up whatever he wrote.
As you can guess, I wasn't the greatest student my teachers had. But even though it's hard for other people to read his handwriting, I've become a pro at decifering his alien language. The photo said and I quote...
"Lucy Heart, you will always hold a special place in my heart. May you rest in peace knowing that your daughter is safe."
