Sixteen

My alarm clock jolts me awake. I slam my hand on it and, hesitantly, get out of bed. My mind instantly wanders back to the dream I had last night. 'Could you even call it a dream?' I ask myself.

While still in my pajamas, I make my way towrds the garage door and unlock it. Nothing incredibly special happened while doing my tests, to both my dismay and happiness. Growing (in size) from a banana to a chair was not all that difficult. Every tests was successful. That's all I ever need.

Around 11am I pause my tests to get a snack. The kitchen was just outside my garage door, which was very helpful in my everyday life. I opened the refrigerator door to find that it's almost empty. The only thing in there to eat is a piece of cheese, but I don't know how long that has been in there. I sigh and close the door, heading to the bathroom to start getting ready to go shopping for food.

As I am walking out the door my phone goes off, signaling that I'm getting a call. I look at the caller I.D. and see that it's Sammy. I answer, "Hey Sammy. What's up?"
"Oh, nothing much. I was just wandering if you'd like to go out to lunch with me?" My heart pounds and my face turns red. I glance back and the garage door and sigh to myself. "Today's not a good day. I'm sorry. Maybe... Maybe another time?" I ask, sorrow lining my every word. "Oh. Um, yeah okay. Is everything alright? I was talking to Nathan and he said that you had been kind of distant at work lately."
"No, no. Wait, you're talking to Nathan?" Jealousy instantly picks up in my time, but calms down after I remember that he's not into girls.
"Yeah silly. We traded numbers a while ago. When I spilled the water on your phone," she giggles. (Its in chapter 8) "Oh. I didn't know you two did that."
"Well we did. Anyway, I should leave you to do what you need to do. Bye!"
I tell her goodbye and put my phone back in my pocket. It still feels weird to not have my purse with me at all times.

I park in a parking space and get out of my car to notice a couple kissing in front of the car diagonal from me. Sammy enters my mind once more and I mentally facepalm for turning down her lunch date. I needed to though. I have to find out what happened when I entered the machine. I have my theories, but none seem to have that piece of logic that I need in order to convince myself.

Shopping took longer than expected. There was one check-out line open, and apparently everybody loves going to the market on Wednesday at 11:30 in the morning. 'If this lady does not shut up about her stupid coupons that are expired I'm going to run her dumbass over,' I thought to myself, ending with a large sigh. The person in front me giggled. She looked no more than 15 years old and had only a small basket rather than a large shopping cart. She suddenly turned around and looked at me. "You know you said that out loud, right?" She asked with a small smile on her face. My eyes go wide with realization that I cursed in front of a kid. Landon (Lilly in Kimberly's dimension) would smack the shit out of me. "Oh my gosh. I am so sorry. I didn't mean to curse in front of a child." I start rambling on about how I should watch my mouth more when the girl speaks up. "It's really okay sir. You didn't mean to." She gives me a chuckle then turns back around. I mentally scream and thank the Lord that her parents were not around. Suddenly, the checkout counter next to us opened, the light shining down on me and the little girl. We both move over, me in front of her. I turn around and see that she only has a few things: bread, eggs, and a small bottle of soda. I load all my things onto the conveyer belt and pay. I also give the cashier a $20 bill and tell him to pay for the girls things as well, and to give her the change. He nods and does exactly as I told him. The girl looks out the window and runs after me, bags in hand. I giggle to myself as she slows down in front of me. She hold out the extra money the cashier handed her and I shake my head. "Nope. Sorry little lady, but that's for you."
"I can't except this. I didn't do anything to deserve it," she says while I put away the shopping cart. "You made my day."
"What? How? All I said was that it was okay that you said dumbass in front of me," she says with a look of pure confusion on her face. My eyebrows go up when that word leaks from her mouth. She quickly apologizes and explains that she's just confused. I laugh again at her antics and get into the car. She follows me to my driver-side window and holds her hand out. "I'm Hannah. I'm also 18 years old," she says with a small chuckle. I shake her hand and my head. "Kameron. I'm 25 and you do not look eighteen."
"I get that a lot. Um, I guess thank you sir." She backs up to lead me room to back out. "Its not a problem girly." I wave and speed off towards my house.

Before anybody says anything, yes, I am disappointed in myself, no need to be disappionted in me.

Now, when this one goes up, the book will be complete, just not published fully yet(if that makes sense). That is how I am going to do things from now on. I will write the entire book ahead of time before even publishing the first chapter, and make adjustments as I need to. It would be better for everyone so it would maintain a consistent update schedule. Sorry for heavily disappointing you all.
