Sixteen

Jaebums POV

Jinyoung and I were both sleeping when I woke up to knocking on the apartment door. Since Jinyoung is a heavy sleeper I was forced to get up and answer it.

I opened the door in my sweatpants and a tee shirt and I wasn't expecting who was at the door. "Im JaeBum why didn't you tell me you moved into another apartment? And you moved in with someone else?" My mother rambled.

"How did you know I moved into this apartment?" I asked. "You weren't answering your door so I asked your neighbors and they said you lived in this one with someone else." She said.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, I didn't think you'd ever come to see me." "I'm your mom of course I would come see you" she set some stuff down on the kitchen table and sat in one of the chairs.

"So who are you living with? Can I meet them? Is it a girl? Isn't this a one room apartment? Where are they?" She asked more questions than necessary. "Mom before we talk about that I have something I need to tell you." I sat across from her.

She didn't respond, she just nodded her head. "So I wasn't planning on tell you this like ever or at least not at 9 in the morning but I'm seeing someone." I tried to keep it subtle.

"Who? Why haven't you told me about anything JaeBum?" She's so nosey. "It's a guy." Again, I kept it subtle.

She didn't say anything to that. She stared at me. I felt like she was disappointed in me since being gay isn't all that acceptable here.

"Are you happy?" She asked. "What? Yes I'm happy mom. He has made me happier than anyone I've ever been with." She smiled. "Then I'm happy. You are your own person and if you're happy I'm happy." She kissed my hand.

"But I don't care who it is I'm still meeting him right now since you've been keeping secrets from me"

I nodded and told her to stay there while I woke him up.

I walked into the room to see Jinyoung still sleeping. After a while I got him to wake up although he was pissed at me.

"My moms here and I sorta just told her I was gay and that I'm living with you so get up and put some sweatpants and a shirt on because you can't go out there almost naked. That's for when she leaves" I winked and he just gave me a cold stare.

Once he put some clothes on we both walked out there and sat across from her.

"Mom, this is Jinyoung, my boyfriend." She smiled and she looked so happy. "Hello I'm his mom" she laughed and shook his hand. You could obviously tell that he had just woke up.

"So how long have you two been dating?" She asked. "About 7 months" Jinyoung responded for me. "Oh JaeBum so you've been keeping this a secret from me for a long time" she stared at me.

"Yes I'm sorry I wasn't planning on telling you that I like guys" I said.

After a couple of hours of Jinyoung and my mom talking she claimed she had to go somewhere and had to leave.

I helped her get her things and I walked her to her car. "Mom I have one more thing I need to tell you" I said.

"What is it?" She asked. "Jinyoung and I promised to marry each other and I think I'm going to propose soon" I said putting her things into her car.

She stared at me again, "If marrying him will make you happy then do it. I'm not here to stop you and your happiness is the only thing that matters to me."

I smiled and said thank you. We both said I love you and she drove away.

I walked back to the apartment and walked in on Jinyoung asleep on the couch.
