Chapter 11

I open my eyes to the sound of arguing and look around frantically. Phoenix and I were draped over the shoulder of the robot and we were walking down a flight of stairs. We shook with each step the machine took, swaying slightly and praying that I don't hit my head on the wall.

"Morning 'Sleeping Beauty'" Phoenix said sarcastically

"Morning to you to" I say rolling my eyes before laughing

Phoenix stared at the ground and was grumbling softly

"What is it?" I asked concerned

"Bad dreams" he murmured and I kept quiet waiting for him to elaborate

"Hey" I said softly when I realised he wasn't going to speak "I miss her, We all do"

He smiled slightly and nodded resuming his quiet manner.

"Now that you two are awake" the white haired lady said "WALK!"

"Shut up!" Phoenix snarled

The lady growled and he instantly shut up.

"Where are we going?" I snap at her rudely

She grunted in response

"Where?" I urge

She stopped and turned around to face us glaring at us, or more like our butts and the glimpses she could get of us from us looking over our shoulder.

"You're still carrying them!" She growled in annoyance

The robot dropped us both and we quickly scrambled up, wedged in between Her and the Gold-Bot. They began walking and we were forced to walk as well so that we don't get trampled on.

We now reached a narrow hallway with a ceiling so low that even I had to bend, I turned my head and saw that the Gold-Bot was now on all fours. We walked forwards and with each step we took the floorboards creaked, the flower printed wallpaper now faded and peeling. The dimly lit hallway cast shadows that moved slowly across the walls.

"Where are you trying to go?" Phoenix asked softly, eyes frantically moving from shadow to shadow.

"Out" the Gold-Bot said

Well isn't this fucking sexist

Phoenix and I kept quiet. I looked at Phoenix doubtfully and he just shrugged, I looked behind me and the robot nodded its head, urging me forward.

I held Phoenix's sweaty hand in my cold one and stumbled forward.

"We're here" announced The lady stopping in front of a door, her deep voice only making the eerie atmosphere more terrifying.

"Great" Phoenix said looking relieved.

The white haired woman took out a small rusted key from her pocket and unlocked the door. The door lock clicked open and it quickly swung inwards, revealing a dark room.

"So are we supposed to go in now?" I ask expecting someone to make the decision for us

"Yes" the Gold-Bot said and slowly inched forwards making us go closer and closer towards the room. The lady stepped into the dusty room and instantly all the lights in the hallway went out.
