The following morning, I woke bright and early to find Hermione still asleep on my bed. I gave her a quick nudge to wake up, to which she finally did (after about five whacks to the arm!) We both dressed in our robes before heading down to breakfast. The Hall was rather empty, but that probably due to the time. It was so early, but we both wanted to get some reading in before our first lesson. Charms. After a while, the hall got busier and Harry and Ron appeared beside us,
"Morning Odessa. Morning Hermione," Harry smiled while sitting down with a plate full of eggs and sausages,
"Morning Harry," I smiled, looking up at him. We all sat down with our food and just had a really nice chat. Over the last few days, so much had happened in our lives, we never get the chance to just talk about random things. But sadly, it was all cut early when we had to leave for our next lesson. Charms with Professor Flitwick. All us first years ferried into the room and took out seats, mine being between both Harry and Ron before looking to our Professor to start the lesson,
"One of a wizards most rudimentary skills is levitation," Flitwick explained while stood upon a large stack of books to project his height, "the ability to make object fly. Uh, do you all have your feathers?" Flitwick asked which drew our attention to the feather in front of us which Hermione, who was sat next to Ron, lifted to show the Professor, "Good. Now don't forget the nice wrist movement we've been practising, hmmm? The swish and flick. Everyone," he encouraged, we all raised our wands at our feathers, "Good. And enunciate. WingardiumLeviosa. Off you go then," I gave a calm breath before pointing my wand at the feather,
"Wingardium Leviosa," I spoke, but the feather just wiggled around a bit,
"Oooh look Odessa! It moved," Harry exclaimed, which made me grin. I was about to try again when I noticed Hermione has successfully done the spell and the feather was sent up into the air,
"Oh, well done! See here, everyone! Ms Granger's done it! Oh, splendid!" Flitwick praised. I tried again, only this time I blocked everything out of my mind and focused simply on the feather,
"WingardiumLeviosa," I hushed while holding a baited breath. But I soon released the breath when I say the feather slowing levitate up into the air. I looked to Harry, Ron and Hermione, all of which had happy smiles on their faces. Next, to Harry, I could hear Seamus repeat the spell over and over again while pointing his wand at the feather,
"Well done dear," Flitwick praised which made me really happy. However, that was short lived when suddenly a massive light appeared in front of my face and a loud boom sounded, breaking my concentration. I looked past Harry to Seamus to see he was covered in soot and his feather was burning to ashes,
"I think we're going to need another feather over here, Professor," Harry spoke while I tried to wipe to soot that had appeared on my face,
"You've missed a spot there," Harry informed pointed to a spot on my cheek. I tried to wipe there, but obviously, I kept missing it. Harry reached up and gently wiped the soot away, which soon revealed my blush,
"Thank you," I hushed, looking away as quickly as possible so he did see. Seamus was given another feather and was excused to do clean himself up as much as possible. We all continued to work away, trying to master this new skill. Before we even knew it, the lesson had come to an end and I found myself walking out into the courtyard with Harry, Ron, Neville and Seamus,
" It's Leviosa, not Leviosar," Ron mimicked which honestly made me very angry,
"Shut your trap will you?" I commanded but Ron simply ignored me,
"Honestly, she's a nightmare. No wonder she hasn't got any friends!" Ron spoke and with that Hermione appeared and rushed past the group, bumping her shoulder against Ron,
