Painful Memories

A flood of memories hit me.

My brother and I playing hide and seek.

My brother and I playing in the grass.

My brother and I waiting for father to come back.

My brother holding me when father never came back.

I jerked in pain.

My brother after the transformation, yelling at me that I was a worthless burden.

At the last one I painstakingly rebuilt the wall, closing myself off to all emotion yet again.

Taking a deep breath I rose briskly, finally numbed of the pain. "What?" i asked, feeling them stare at me in various states of shock to horror.

"What was that?" I heard Allie whisper in a trembling voice. Allie was the youngest of us, only created two months ago yet we love her like our own. She had soft blue eyes and was 12 in human years, and her eyes haven't quite changed yet. I suddenly remembered that none of them know about Zack or about my block of emotions.

"Come here, Allie." I said feeling a twing of motherly affection at the trembling bundle in my arms. As far as I know, it's the only emotion that can never be blocked. I took a deep breath, "I need to tell you guys something." I said gravely.

"Damn right you do." growled Cameron, looking extremely grim.

So I told them. I told them everything that happened from when I woke up after my transformation and how I closed of all emotions.

At the end Brooke looked faintly bored. Brooke was one of our most...interesting characters. She had bright green eyes, spiky hair that she changed into a different color every week, and never wears anything not made of Italian leather.

"Why do you look so bored?" i said, extremely confused.

"I already knew," she said casually.

"WHAT?" I said feeling shock break through the barrier.

"Did you really think you could hide it from me?" she asked.
